Hi All,
I've picked up a few foundry packs and am rather taken by them.
Can anyone advise some good resources (pictures / colour plates ) for colonial exploration?
I'm rather interested in congo exploration. Does anyone on here have an area they like thats very colourful?
Cheers
Adam

I know that Foundry itself used to have a great online library full of references. Darkest Africa, North American First Nations, etc. etc.
If it isn't on the Foundry website, go on Internet Archives, http://archive.org/index.php (http://archive.org/index.php) , and browse up five to ten years ago.

Adam I recently got into DA, I suppose it depends how deep you want to get into it. For me I found there are a shed load of related topics on this very forum that are full of useful information and as far as painting ideas are concerned Foundry have a picture of every figure they produce on their site which give a very good indication of what your figures should look like.
If you want to go deeper then Foundry have two books on the subject, the East Africa book is difficult to get hold of but I believe the Central Africa book is still available and can be picked up for less than twenty quid.

Just got the kindle version of the East Africa Foundry book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/East-Africa-Imperial-Nineteenth-ebook/dp/B00911RUA2/ref=tmm_kin_title_0
19 quid as opposed to 170 odd for the hardback. Plus I have it on my phone / iPad / Mac and Macbook so for me its ideal.
Would have loved to have got my grubby paws on the book itself but I cant justify the prices they want for it...

Oh no now that means I've got to get a kindle :(

Just download the app for free :D
It's free across all platforms :)

Is that what you do Adam, or do you actually have a kindle. I ask cos I was thinking of getting that app but the reviews put me off saying it was a crock.

Hi Jeff,
I have a kindle but I actually use my iphone / ipad far more now. Add the fact the book is full of illustrations it "works" better for me to have it on the iMac too.
For this book I'd go kindle version if you have a tablet or larger to view t on.
PM me if you want to go through it in more detail :)
