Title: 28mm Firefly Crew (any ideas?)
Post by: Bobble on June 16, 2013, 06:58:08 PM
I want to paint up a Firefly crew and have been looking around for figures.
Unfortunately I'm not a big fan pf the Heresy ones, thinking of using the Hasslefree Brooke as River and maybe the Artizan Eliza Stone with a head swap for Zoe
Anyone out there got any ideas what minis to use?

Cheers,
Steve

Reaper have a few of the crew in their Chronoscope series - Jane's there, I know, as I have the miniature (knitted hat and all!). I had the same idea for Zoe as you, and managed to get the model from somebody on the forum (it was a couple of years ago, so I'm sorry I can't remember who it was - but thank you!). It might be worth looking through the Chronoscope range to see what they have.

Hope this helps!

Sgt major miniatures have a complete set of firefly figures, as well as not-reavers and not-purple  bellies in their sci-fi range  :D

Mal, Zoe, Jayne and River will be in Wave 2 of the Sedition Wars Kickstarter pledges, which should be along in the next month or so.

Kickstarter only, with the few remaining sets being sold at cons, so ask around on forums and check ebay regularly.

Wild West Exodus also did the entire crew, IIRC.  Again, a Kickstarter exclusive as far as I know, and these ones were steampunk versions.

Blackwater Gulch (Gangfight Studios) is doing a Firefly crew for their actual Old West game - it would be super simple to modify them.  I don't care for most of their miniatures though - haven't seen the Firefly crew in the flesh.  Worth checking into though...

Maybe there are some greens floating around the web or something.  It would be easy to modify them with a bit of sci-fi kit.

Ooohhh! Shiny! I wasn't aware of all those choices, and I'm pretty interested too. Thanks! (both for opening this thread and for answering you all! :))

Didn't Ground Zero Games do something like this or was that in 15 mm?

Gracias,

Glenn

Been too long since I visited their website...

"The captain of the boat is Nathan Reinholdt, a former sergeant of the US Army who commands respect yet is fiercely loyal to his crew."

Shouldn't that be CONFEDERATE army, to be consistent?  Awkward politics aside.

Wait, that would mean the Confederacy hadn't won. Where did you learn your history?  :o

Yep, it should have definitely been Confederate.

Whichever, my advice is to buy them as soon as they are released before the IP Police catch up to them.
