Title: Big Help...Please Robin Hood
Post by: Eric the Shed on June 20, 2013, 10:04:53 PM
Hi Guys

Thinking caps on...

I need to source a decent Robin Hood & Merry Man gang 28mm - it appears this is no longer in the foundry catalogue

Plus I need peasants, feudal farmers, merchants etc all from the early middle ages

Please list all suggestions as I now need to populate Nottingham !!

Dave Thomas sometimes has old Foundry stock.

Otherwise how about Old Glory?

I think you might end up with a surplus of the main characters ;) but, Conquest Games (http://www.conquest-games.co.uk/index.php?cPath=31_40&osCsid=0478db88e657fcd6d9e981bbd1129f24) have just bought some out and Mirliton (http://www.mirliton.it/product_info.php?pName=the-merry-sherwood-company&cName=fantasy-2528mm-humans) have the old Grenadier(?) ones - don't have either, so don't know about the sizes (do you know about Black Hats range, too small?)

Trent have a Friar Tuck & Maid Marian & North Star have a few based on that (awful) recent TV series. There's also a couple of high born ladies in Ebob's rebellion range as well.

BTD (http://www.blacktreedesign.com/uk/home.php?cat=2482) have some nice peasants in their feudal range (& some of the Celtic peasants might suit)

Have you thought about Barony Miniatures? www.baronyminiatures.com/
These are sculpted by Max Carr, on of Heritage's old designers. They are perfect for the period you want to do and the prices are very reasonable! I have a few of these and like them very much. They are 28mm figures and fit well with Essex and Foundry.

Splintered Light also do a small range that might suit.

We're in the US, but I hope this helps! These are Gripping Beast Viking Women from http://www.architectsofwar.com/ (http://www.architectsofwar.com/) that might work, the far left and far right figures for peasants perhaps:

Mega Miniatures (http://freeboardgamesnow.com/fantasytownfolk.aspx (http://freeboardgamesnow.com/fantasytownfolk.aspx)) is closing soon, but they still have some great background peasants up:

And there are Old Glory http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/ (http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/) peasants we have our eyes on converting
