First game last night with some german types giving tommy the run around ( Thanks Overlord, if you are who I am guessing by your previous battle reports ; - ) )
Loved it and it seems to be just the game I am looking for.
I havent got the book yet (order will be placed tonight) but there were a couple of questions I wanted to ask.
A double 1 meant reloading ammo. Does that unit have to play their blank card to reload in their next phase or could they complete an action (such as charging with bayonettes) and still reload?
secondly if you were to charge a unit behind a linear object (crazy as it may seem) (hedge/wall etc) do you have to stop at the object, then charge the next turn or do you just bob over movement allowing ?
Im sorry if the are obvious if you have the rule book to hand but they have been bugging me since last night.
My gut instinct would be that they could do nothing to relaod and that you would have to stop at the linear object before jumping over. It has been known for me to have had bad guts before though
Cheers

Hi Maw,
1) you are not allowed to shoot in the next turn. You can do other actions but not firing this particular weapon.
2) We always fight over the obstacle immediately. We also try to get as many figures in contact as possible. Even if the bases do not touch or are .5 " away.
If the charger wins the unit moves into the position of the defender right after the melee is finnished.
Thanks that you liked your game last night
:)
Cheers

Hi Chris. Yes, it is I LeClerc. 8)
If we hadn't run out of time my Tommies would have taken a real beating, losing the Chateau and the cellar full of Blue Nun
Paul.
BTW the next T&T game should be on Friday 16th May

Björn, what is the point with the .5" distance abnway? Why di you not just say 'when in base to base contact with the enemy'. It seems a bit unnecessary to check for that extra half an inch when a base to base is more definite.

Youre right Peder,
we used that .5" because some wargamers in Germany are darn exactly with measuring so I wanted to make things easier.
We play with base contact and every figure 1" around the actual combat can fight as well.
That makes things a bit faster.
