Title: Does anyone remember...?
Post by: gmanrocks on 27 June 2013, 03:38:49 PM
Hi

Does anyone remember a series of miniatures, they were pre painted plastic fantasy miniatures that slotted onto a tube. The tube had the minis stats on and the game played by rolling the tube and seeing how had the highest stat. Inside the tubes were skulls and when you beat win you can attach the skull to your minis base.

I used to love it, but its totally driving me crazy trying to remember what the game was. Can anyone recall this?

Thanks

I remember it, but can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I think it was around in the early '90's wasn't it?

Yeah they were. There was a range of them in toy shops. I think they were pretty cheap too, because my mum didn't object to buying me the odd one when I pestered for them.

I remember them as well.

Sorry - no idea what they were called - but I think they were by Blue Bird.

Yes those were them. Why the interest in them?

They just popped into my head when i was at work today. Dunno what made me think of them. I was trying to Google them for most of the morning, but searching for "toys with tubes of skulls" resulted in nothing, so i ended up spending the entire afternoon bugging myself to find out what they were  ;D

Oh, I remember those, they were awesome! They were around the same period as the card game with the scratch off bits that had incredibly limited replay value...

I used to love those. I think they were called Battle Cards. I remember some cards had riddles on and if you solved them all you could send them off to get the King card...Which did nothing when I got it, but at least they all had good artwork. Some of which I think was taken from the old Fighting Fantasy books.
