Just started work on a few Innsmouth themed pieces of scenery in preparation for Shocking Tales #4. In advance, I live on the prairies and have no real reference for Innsmouth but the story and memories of Vancouver trips...and the recent flood I guess... :?
Earlier this year I build a Devils Reef set for demo\convention use and now I have moved onto the Esoteric Order Of Dagon Church. The church is fully clad and roofed as well as mounted on a rather nice stone courtyard. I've started this thread in an effort to document some of the process (as much for me as anyone else!) of scenery building...at least how I do it.
Other locations will include: The Innsmouth Bus, The Docks, The Gillman House and one other that escapes me at the moment...
I always intend to post pictures but never do...hopefully this will make me do it...
More info/photos as time permits... :)

I'd really ask for some photos, it's by far my favorite setting! :D
-
I shall attempt to do it justice Sir! Just off for a few photos now...

Conveniently enough, my brother just finished a tour through New England (you know, the trip I keep threatening to take and never do), and has a heap of pictures of quaint seaside towns for reference, which I shall endeavour to secure a copy of. Alas, no Deep Ones were sighted, though he did get to visit the International Cryptozoology Museum.

Sounds great, Mike.

Looking forwards to seeing some piccies!
:D

Based on the thread title I thought we would be seeing a dilapidated red grain elevator with INNSMOUTH in peeling paint on the sides.

Hey Mike, have a free afternoon, a ladder, and a bucket of white paint? :D

This is a must follow...
The Renedra plastic buildings; barn (http://www.renedra.co.uk/webstore.html#Ramshackle), church (http://www.renedra.co.uk/product.php?product=113), farmhouse (http://www.renedra.co.uk/images/American_FarmhouseLRG.jpg) might work for this, as filler or as inspiration.
But on second thought maybe they would be best suited to Dunwich?

That barn is fantastic! Actually, the church looks better than mine as well...
-
Well, the Renedra bits come at a bit of premium price-tag here in Canada, too...
-
Bah! Peabody!!! Why must you torment me! ;)
-
Because of the Tesla Rifle.
You deserve a whole lot of something, and it all depends whether it's me fielding the T.R., or my buddy. >:D

lol

Bought the shack and barn last week here in the UK £30 for the pair the model shop had them in saving me postage.

I think the Plasticville one, with a little heat and balsa applied, is an alternative. ;)

Back with some pictures...Superflytnt has already usurped my thread! ;) Now I am the second guy to post pictures... :'(
Anyway...here, in all its glory is Devils Reef. Four Islands total...built out of styrofoam, MDF, stir sticks...

I've played on this table a few times and it is a really great looking setup in person!

It certainly looks like it would be a fun set-up.
