am looking for more music to set the stage as background music for IHMN games ? so far i just got the Sherlock Holmes Movie Soundtrack's anyone got any ideas

Gilbert and Sullivan would work for a good mix of comedy and drama and it's bang on contemporaneous for IHMN.

I would love to find music that sounds like the alternative opening theme of the 1950s sherlock holmes tv series. They only played it on one opisode, it was a piano version of the regular theme. This is what really captures the mood of vicotorian science fiction for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAh5HbDSeUo

I ran across the soundtrack to The Mummy again the other day, and I have to admit it was pretty compelling stuff.

The soundtrack to Hellraiser.
It isn't Horror Schlock as you might expect. Very brooding and majestic. Think of the original Tim Burton Batman (which is virtually plagiarized from it).

I read this post when you first posted is and despite being quite a music nerd nothing came to mind. Today I remembered a great band called "Miasma and the carousel of headless horses" who play avant garde chamber music/prog.

This is one of my favourite tracks, atmospheric to begin and becoming more dramatic at 2.30 ;)

Abney Park - Victorian Vigilante
Plus lots of stuff from The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing

The soundtrack to Bram Stoker's Dracula. (The 1992 Coppola movie.) I use it for my Gothic Horror games and at a pinch it would work for VSF.

We tend not to have particular music, but this topic had crossed my mind. Shouldn't be too intrusive.
This may be too potent at spots, but the sound track from Last of the Mohicans, especially recurring violin theme, seems possibly useful.
Doesn't necessarily invoke the earlier period of the movie to me.

For victorian/horror music check out James Bernard.
