Title: Radiotubes for scifi-based scenes ?!
Post by: Snafu on 03 July 2013, 06:53:33 PM
My father has tons of, uhm, "things" in his basement, which he collected during the last 50 years.  Recently I did some "archaeological excavations" there and found a box of old radiotubes.

I think, these thingies might fit well for scifi-based scenes or dioramas.

Here are some quickshots, just to show the idea.

What do you think?

Nice props - would do well as 'mad science' thingies for pulp, too!

That, but personaly I'd steer away from glass scenery.

Be aware that SOME (not all) tubes are extremely valuable, especially in the HAM Radio community, as very few are made anymore.  If they are labelled you might do some online digging; might have yourself some miniatures money there!

Yes - please only use them if they are burned out and do NOT work! Some old tubes are still of great use (and in demand) for lots of stereo equipment and such.
