Title: Mediterranean Skin Help
Post by: gmanrocks on 05 July 2013, 08:47:58 AM
Hi Everyone

I wonder if anyone might have some suggestions. I'm trying to paint up miniatures with a Mediterranean/Olive flesh tone but I just can't seem to work out how to do it. The kicker is, my local game store only stocks Citadel paints, they have the full stock, but no Reaper, Vallejo etc.

Has anyone tried this in the past, and if so, how do you go about it?

Thanks

Whilst not in your local store, Foundry do a Mediterranean Flesh 125 which is excellent.  They also do a Near East 123 which can give you a variation. Link is here:

You might be able to match the colur chart with Citadel tones.

Where are you based?

If you are this side of the pond, there is a Yorkshire department store (Boyes) that stocks the full range of Valejho paints - including airbrush colours, inks and pigments etc. Oddly, not in the toy dept, but in the hardware dept. Not all stores carry the full range, but the Scarborough store does, and other stores can transfer stock if they don't have things in.

Hi. Thanks for the replies, some great suggestions. I'm going to give a few a go, and see what I'm happy with.

I'm North West UK, so just a little out of the way, but I'm going to keep my eye out when I'm out and about.

For Vallejo I can recommend http://www.snmstuff.co.uk/ (http://www.snmstuff.co.uk/)and whilst they are not local to you they are very swift on postage front.
