Hi There!!
I would like to play some VSF, but i need some rules!!
Does any of you know about any good 28mm rules that does not use cards for activation - my fellow games dont like the cards, so no cards!!
Thanks
Lars

Hi Lars
You could specify what kind of VSF games You want to play?
small skirmish ones or larger set piece battles? maybe something inbetween?
IHMN is a skirmish scale ruleset
-
Thanks for the replys:-)
I would like to play with about 30+ miniatures aside and some vehicles:-)
Lars ;)

I am not sure whether IHMN can cover this.
cards are rather en vogue nowadays I'm afraid. it will have to be something older.
do You have any special VSF weapons/vehicles that need to be covered?
-
I just talked to a freind of mine - we are going to use warhammer 40000 rogue trader with some house rules:-)
Thanks for the replies!!

if You want to go in that direction, I can recommend WH Great War, it is a bit simpler

Before In Her Majesty's Name there was GASLIGHT. Now it appears as one volume combining all the various supplements. It might provide you with an alternative to IHMN.
GASLIGHT is not card activated.
There is also Valor, Steel and Flesh, based on the old Brother against Brother rules system. It is card based activation though.

FUBAR VSF edition - hit up Froggy the Great for the link, because Lanse keeps up the ruleset. Free, flexible, and awesome.
It is what I have started using for all of my VSF stuff.

And, yet, I don't think I've ever played it without card activation. Local group favors it that much.
How do they feel about initiative rolls?

We got bored with the system, it is a slow game. lol

I would love feedback on how to large vehicles.

Froggy & Lanse are two of the Forge of War Stalwarts. An elite band of games-tinkerers who never know when to leave something alone lol
FUBAR VSF is one of the best loved FUBAR variants and well worth a look at.
-
And for skirmish gaming there is the old Space 1889 and its The Soldiers Companion.
-
Froggy and Lanse share a body, if you must know.
Heh.
-
Not really sure if it fits, but 'England Invaded' might suit. It's relatively cheap, and has a range of 'Weird War One' style mini's in large 28mm. Wish I could remember who makes it (buried at bottom of box at present), but they were always cheap figures.

Well, what is his name, and does he enjoy the sharing?
(sorry, couldn't help myself)

Since neither are here, some links have appeared :D
The Forge of War Forum has a board dedicated to VSF FUBAR:

Our blog has the VSF Rules here (scroll about halfway down):

There is also a sticky at the top of the VSF board with 5 pages of suggestions and discussions on various rules sets. :)
