I knew it had to be bigger, but it sure is a wonderful bit of sculpting.
I am tempted, just to paint it.

Hello Mason.
I'm glad you like the set.
The figure is indeed 36mm tall, but as a guide, I can tell you that the head has the same size as practically all thr historical 28mm figures.
The difference is that the prportions are kept as realistic as possible (considering the head as the unit of measure) thus it has to go up to 36mm. The difference in size is mostly from the shoulders to the knee.

Fantastic :)

Absolutely spectacular!

:o :-* simply stunning. Great piece. Completely the wrong size for me but I'll get one anyway. Superb brushwork as always.
-
At times like this I'm glad I'm a sub-par painter...it removes any temptation to buy things bigger than 28mm...because I know damn well i won't be able to do them justice. lol
-
Cheers guys.
Thanks a lot for you comments.
Elbows: OK. I admit that I am triying to sell you the figure, but please forget it for a second.
I do encourage you to paint it. The figure is not bigger: It's taller.
Why? Becase the head is the same size (+-5mm) as most of the 28s out there in the market, and we if want to keep the proportions as realistic as possible you have to go to at least 36mm. The only difference you are going to find is that his torso (from shoulders to crotch ), arms (in order to keeep the proportion) an legs (from crotch to foot) are a bit longer. That won't make any difference when painting the figure regardless your skills, believe me.
If you (or any other) gets the figure, I would ask you to put it besides any 28 (the one you think the best proportioned ), get a human body proportion pattern like the one HERE (http://shop.oniriaminiatures.com/gb/content/9-scales-sizes), and then compare...

Great as a display piece. I can't help but think that you'd sell a bunch in the "traditional" 28mm tabletop size.

Thanks for the comment goon3423.
Oniria Miniatures' point is to make realistic proportioned figures, so to distort the proportions of our figures so they can match the existing ones in te makert is out o the question. Saleswise it may be not too wise, but artisticwie we are happy this way. Let's ee how trends, ashieons and consumer demands move on...
