Title: Dark, Darker, Darkest Kickstarter
Post by: Sterling Moose on July 12, 2013, 09:28:26 PM
I really don't understand why some kickstarter projects are so poorly advertised.  I can't get on with the KS search engine, it wants to show me loads of stuff that has ended already.  Unless the authors really push their product on the forums, fewer people know about them than might.  I only picked up on this one because someone on TMP posted pictures of the zombie sculpts:

I know, I know there are numerous zombie styled board games these days, Zombiecide 1 & 2 etc etc but I do quite like the look of this one (plus there are a healthy number of stretch goals already reached).

Pledged.
Coincidently a friend recently told me he read the rules while they were just finished and that it's going to be a great game.
We'll see  :)

Haven't seen it advertised anywhere...  and it looks nice! I just emailed Queen games if it is possible to still participate. I'm not sure if I'm lucky if they say yes since part of me actually wants to spend less on kickstarters. Already now, once the packages are coming in I might need a bigger house...

Are the minis going to be 28 mm or smaller?

I read this when David Ausloos (a casual buddy I've talked with a lot) created the design a couple years back. Its been through several revisions and he has more control over the design and translation than he did with his last game, Panic Station, which was really good but had TERRIBLE launch rules.

This is going to be a REALLY great game, but I am not sure I can justify spending the money on it...it's very expensive for what it is. I hate saying that because I really want it, but it is what it is.

Recieved my boxes yesterday, but only now did I find the time to inventorize.
The first disappointment was the figure size. While announced as 28mm these are way too small to fit next to Zombicide,  Studio Miniatures, Copplestone or the likes. So their purpose as playing pieces will be just that  :(
Second one was the discovery of 2 guard minis but no Mortimer.
The third and biggest disappointment was yet to come though. In the expansion box I found that the helicopter expansion sheet was misprinted.
backside print of the counters & tiles is off by 5mm and shows partialy white borders. So far for quality checks...  :-[

Well, off to complain and try to get my missing and misprinted stuff.

I had the same reaction.  The figures are actually 28mm.  Why couldn't they lie and make them 32mm like everyone else does?   lol

On the plus side I think I got everything I was supposed to in my shipment.  There is a raging debate over on BBG about missing or changed components that I don't have time to wade through.
