That was my first thought too but as it is posted in Colonial I think we dare assume late 19th C.

Off the top of my head Ironclad & redoubt. Did anyone pick up the HLBS ones?

I collect the old SAE Guards (and the Japanese Knockoffs).  They pop up on ebay quite a bit and I love the little toys. Don't think they ever did any other home service troops though.

Tradition has a very nice line of 30mm infantry band and marching soldiers.

If it's 28mm you're after, I'd suggest Ironclad too. If you want to see them, I've conveniently just finished painting some

You can ignore the two with odd weapons though, that's greenstuff  :D

Regardless of the self-advertising there, I do recommend the Ironclad figures.

Hi,old glory do some Brits in their boxer range that may be useful,marked as royal marines,they aren't wearing helmets though,just caps.

Ironclad are excellent, and represent 1890 onwards. Redoubt and HLBS (if you can lay your hands on HLBS - they are the only real cavalry option too), are also good. Redoubt are on the big side though. Both are late 1870s-1881 (or engineer or volunteer units up to 1899/1900). Tradition are tall, but realistically proportioned (so thin compared to other minis of the same height), and are post 1881 (they go all the way to 1908 as the rifle is not detailed enough to be specific).

The Old Glory Royal Marines are smaller than all the others, and have an RM four pocket undress jacket on - which was a dark blue affair. There were no four pocket red coats in either arm for enlisted ranks.

Of course, if you are not that worried by accuracy, you could mix them all in. If you are interested in accuracy, the artillerymen from Ironclad and Redoubt have points on their helmets, when they should have balls  :o
