I think those look great. Unfortunately they are moving so fast I was getting dizzy. o_o
-
Doh... I posted the post too soon! I will rectify!
-
Ha! Well played, sir! They are dancing in perfect rythm to the harmony of Iron Maiden's "The Duelists." I know this for a certainty because it happened to be playing in the background when I opened this page.
I am not one who generally likes green orks, but yours are great! They have that fun Rogue Trader vibe about them that I don't really get with the newer ones. :D
-
love them :-*
-
Yeah!
Proper Rogue Trader!

I always loved these sculpts and your paint work really does them justice. Well done!
-
Have you got a time machine? They look 20 years old and as fresh as a daisy at the same time. Is the phrase Old Skool? Very nice you Crazy Viking
-
Maybe unoriginal but expertly executed...Love them... :-*
Cheers,
Blue

I always loved those big shoulder Orks and the power armour guy! :-*
Super jobs.
-
whoa! they don't do proper orkses like those anymore! Very nice.
-
You have finished them! That must be some kind of holiday you have!
Brilliant painting and photography. Reminds me of the time when I glared at 'Eavy Metal articles...!

Haha thanks. Some of them are even out of focus! But as back then you didn't have digital cameras I can't really redo it. It wouldn't be right. lol lol

Thanks mate. Yeah, you'd think there was a market for something like that, but no one seems to have picked up on it.

Catalogue painting in a way I guess. ;D

Now you flatter me! A dated look was just what I was aiming for. I wouldn't know what the phrase is... it's too modern for me.

lol
...and here was me thinking that you would not get it.
-
Great! I look forward to having my Marines crush them lol
-
They're brilliant! I long for the days when orks were this fun :D
-
Green orks are cool, and yours are fantastic. Wonderful, clean painting that really sparkles. Well done.
-
They look fantastic. Characterful models and great painting. Whats not to like?
:-*
Thanks mate. Yeah, you'd think there was a market for something like that, but no one seems to have picked up on it.
Im one the few people out there who likes the "new" orks as well as the goofier earlier ork models. The old power armoured guys (like the guy in the top photo) are stone cold classics though.
The upcoming Mantic Deadzone "orx" have a bit of that eras vibe to them, but a few of the sculpts were a bit dodgy to start with. They re-did them but until I see them in hand I wont know how I feel about them.
I do like this guy though. He is very "Ere We Go!"/"Freebooterz" looking to me.

Yeah that certainly borrows from the olden days. No doubt. Especially the foot gear seems inspired. :D
But I suppose he's 4 times the mass of an old figure though. lol
-
Oh, sir, I really love what you achieved with those Orks. :-* :-*
They really keep the spirits up, they look absolutely gorgeous, right in accordance with the RT style. Simply great!
-
Excellent Dr!!! :-*
Any other Rogue Trader stuff planned?

Yes! There be a ship on the way. And a few space pirates.
I just paint... I can try to be a gamer all I want but painting is what I care for.
-
Here's the ship:

Now THAT is what you call old skool.
Proper!
8) 8) 8)
What is it made from?
Is it some sort of bathroom product like the one in the rulebook?
Whatever it is, it works!
:-*
-
Shampoo bottle with a pair of espresso capsules on the top. Going to paint it a bit more later. Needs yellow windows I think.
-
Brilliant! Evil genius!
-
Thumbs up, love the project :-*
-
Ah, the old 'shampoo bottle dropship', certainly de rigeur for 1988 or thereabouts. I'm not even certain we called them 'dropships' at that point. I think I used to refer to them as 'hovertanks'.
Great painting on the orky minis (you really should have painted one as an albino, though!) and a great ship. I'm going to steal bits of that design. I really like the portholes.
-
Love it mate 8) 8) 8)
Really captures the eighties feel :D
cheers

You nailed it! :-* :-* Whenever I've tried anything remotely similar to that, it's been a mess, so you have my admiration. You totally got it!
-
Very nice work Doctor!
Amazing how old minis can really shine with great paintjobs!
