"mummy unwrapping parties" were all the rage?

Man, that's effed up...

"Okay, everybody got their wine? Great! Now, let's draw a name out of the hat to see who gets to pull off the first bandages!"

"Gee, Marge, that was the best ancient dessicated corpse I've desecrated in weeks! You always have the best parties!"

Even the Victorians and most of the mummy mad late 19th and early 20th century western world loved these parties. I don't suppose after dinner lit cigars and snifters of brandy around the dried up mummy would be a very safe combination.....however, it does provide the basis of a scenario where you could find a mummy or two almost anywhere outside of Egypt.

I did exactly that for an RPG session I ran last year. Starts with the Victorian adventurers attending an unrolling party, and ends with the immortal and powerful lover of said desecrated mummy (and his assorted cultists) exacting a terrible revenge through the streets of Oxford :-)
