Title: The Great Race
Post by: BaronVonJ on August 09, 2013, 03:23:49 PM
All the Great Powers have gathered to pit man & machine against each other in a Race for the Ages.
Who will be the victor?

Who will be the victor?

Yithians. (Possibly in disguise.)

Professor Fate, of course.  :P

That looks fun!
And the contraptions are grand - I'd really like to see the Dutch and the Turk vehicles  close up.
Is there any complete and ready-made rule set which works well for VSF? I would guess not....

Sorely tempted to build a couple of vehicles...or perhaps boats.

Oops, I'd confused the Russian and Dutch flags.
Anyway, they're all there - thanks very much BaronVonJ, those are brilliant. Larger than I though too, after seeing them with a couple of models I own.
Brilliant show!  8) 8) 8) 8)

Once again RECRUITs is the weekend of my wedding anniversary. My wife is very understanding and may let me free for a night. I'm also thinking of debuting Fistful of Lead: Horse and Musket that weekend, too.

Please tell her it's also the birthday (Saturday) of two guests from the far flung wilds of Nebraska...

What the heck am I saying?!?!? As a firm follower of 'She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed' school, I admit she DOES come first.  ;)

Who will be the victor?

No doubt the player with the most sparkling teeth.

Kewl! I shall look forward to leaving you far in my dust! However, probably moot saber-rattling, as I'm assuming no trip by middle of Sept.  :D

If you ever get a chance, and I gather I mis-remember this as a Chris Palmer run game, though he did play, if ANYBODY is doing a flying carpet race at a big con, demand a place. Just TOO MUCH FUN!

However, REALLY looking forward to this one; as long as no one calls me Leslie.  >:(

I came! I saw! I...

Oh, well, I started with a commanding lead!

Then dropped to second to last...

Then back up to second as we called the game! *ahem*

Deep bow to the Baron for a job well done!

I shall never listen to your advice again!  lol

Sorry we missed it! I hope Jaye wasn't too busy to take a few pictures for us?  ;)

Can't say for sure; perhaps during those times he was awkwardly bending over the table laughing maniacally...

Actually, did look like he did; hope he was successful. I'll assume he'll have a few up shortly. If only my phone camera wasn't the POS it is.

You did miss something special, and while a few minutes before we weren't sure we had enough to play, by game time, we were turning folks away, alas.

Was fun, and LOOKED fun; plenty of passerbys afterwards admitted it looked a scream. Great VSF promotion that!

And, a GREAT birthday present to me!

 lol

No, I really make no claim to having had a chance in the end; outside of a hand-o-Gawd from one of the other players, and most of the cards were gone, even a Hail Mary ram wouldn't have been enough.

A well-deserved, and cunning, victory for the Turk!

I suppose they will be insufferable in negotiations now...

Thanks again SO MUCH!!!

They'll probably ask to be buddies in the next war.

Why do you think I acknowledge their victory with such flowing praise?

What do the Americans call it, oh, yes, 'buttering up'.  lol
