Does anyone happen to know who makes this? I thought it was something like Fenrir or Fenris miniatures but I don't think that's right...
In any case, this figure has been on my painting desk since at least August 2010... Is it sad that three years doesn't see all that long?!? ;)

That is beautiful! Really lovely paintwork there.

This is really great! I think I would love it more if there were some variation in color between her hair, dress, and the ravens. Keep up the good work!

That's awesome. Maybe fenryll? Don't know just sounds the same as the others but don't recognise seeing it on their site.

Very nicely done. It has an Anima Tactics like style about it. I'm clutching at straws tbh though.

And a very nice paintjob you did on it. :-*

She is a BEAUTY...EXCELLENT brushwork!
I'm glad W.K. was able to identify her for you. I'm going to have to start browsing through the mini makers' sites; re, your LOVELY creation has pointed out how out of touch with the newer pieces I've become. Thanks for the post.

I much prefer your paintjob to the stock one. Nice.

I love your paint work. I'm sooooo happy to see black highlighted properly and not with a gob gray as with many figures I've seen. Black highlights are hard to do, and I'm very impressed! :-* :-* :-*

Nice work.
Lovely mini too.

Thanks all for the positive feedback, I appreciate it! It was fun to paint.
Thanks White Knight for identifying the manufacturer... I want to say though that I'm sure it was originally from a different place... But I think that perhaps they sold the moulds to Valiant... In any case, thanks again, you've allowed me to update my site to reflect the manufacturer :)

It was originally dragonblood miniatures I believe.

Magnificient Egos, the company that had the spell effects as well. Valiant bought the line.

Yeah....i noticed that too. I always find it difficult to highlight black. It's hard to do indeed. But how is it done properly. Perhaps someone can give a quick tutorial? Would be much appreciated.

Thanks again! I have done black using gray highlights only that I am happy with as well:

As for tutorials... The key is to start dark, get lighter, and then go crazy and put a dot of white or almost-white colour as the final highlight. This is especially true for shiny things like full-grain polished leather or satin/silk or crow feathers.
If you're looking for more of a dull, faded black - which is essentially a gray I guess - then don't take the highlights quite as high, as in this one:

As for highlighting techniques, I have an article that might be helpful: Painting Miniatures (http://www.hourofwolves.org/?view=articles&which=paintingFigures)
Thanks
