How perfectly excellent Thorwin.

Note: stat's for a light field gun are in Heroes, Villains and Fiends.

I like what you've done with that Sentinal steam lorry. I'll be seeing a load of real ones next weekend at the world's biggest steam fair. I might just have to look out in the trade section to see if someone has one of these models :)

The truck is a MATCHBOX MODELS OF YESTERYEAR Y18 1918 ATKINSON MODEL D STEAM WAGON, not the Corgi Sentinel.
I took the Matchbox one , because the rubber tires of the Corgi ones are a bit too modern in my opinion.

Hands Required   static

The number of 'hands required' indicates the crew needed. So for a fixed light gun like this you would normally need four hands, i.e. two crew. One to lay and fire the piece and the other to prepare and load the shells.
This would mean that it could be fired each turn.
However, if you lost one pair of hands you would be down to alternate turns shooting.

Fantastic! I take it the lady with umbrella is Amelie and the gent with the doctor's bag is Dr Moebius?

Exactly Sir, what you cannot see is the doctors syringe behind his back.

Quite marvelous, though the gun looks a bit 'confined'. Crew would need to take care lest stepping on each other, and traversing would be another tricky task.

May seem a quibble, but I actually like to see a bit of 'mistake'.

The side plates can be lowered to form a platform , but in transport mode they are up  ;)
It looks a bit cramped, but with the fighting platform option I think it is "realistic" enough.
I just thought to make some ladder steps on the inside of the rear plate.
Rear plate down , sides plates horizontal and gun ready to fire.
I wanted to make a vehicle on the move and with an option to remove the gun and have a regular truck.
Remember the german 88 , they fired it from the carriage without the platform attached to the ground, if you want to fire a gun you just do it  8)

Another option is a hotchkiss mg and my favourite the trench mortar as a congreve rocket laucher on the truck.

As an example of truck mounted naval deck guns, here is a WW1 Royal Navy Seabrook 'heavy' armoured car mounting a 3pdr gun:

Any resemblance to a gunboat on wheels is probably not coincidental :)

I totally dig the idea with the trench mortar
better than the pedestal gun

Now that IS crowded, 'easy on the traverse or you'll take Jones' head off!', but Thorwin is quite correct, one DOES make do.
