Title: German East Africa Revolt
Post by: drferling on 12 May 2008, 09:06:09 PM
Hello all,

The professors terrific painting has gotten under my skin again and I'm doing a bit of long term planning.

I would like to emulate the Prof. and do a German East African force under Wissemann.  I have found aton of miniatures suitable for this.

My question is what would the forces of Bushiri bin Salim look like?  Basmachi, Zanzibar, Ruga-Ruga.

Thanks!

thanks! Yes, Foundry Baluchis and Ruga-Ruga ranges are exactly what you need:

of course, you could add some african natives (slaves and local askaris) too

did you read that?

I did read that link.  It was quite helpful.  Thanks for posting it!

I also have the article that Chris Peers had posted on the Copplestone website back when it was Gisby about Naval Landing Parties.

Working my way through http://www.jaduland.de/kolonien as well.

Thanks for the reply.  Looks like I'll be placing a Foundry order....
