What works best for Chinese or North Korean troops in 1950-1953 in 1/600th scale?
I am looking for troops marching on the road and troops attacking American and South Korean troops (targets for 1/600th aircraft.)
World War 2 Russians?
For marching troops it was suggested I made the targets out of the (?) old GHQ standing in massed ranks figures (if they are still in production.) I remember those figures...
Edit: I found German ones - http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/g76.html, now to see if they have Russian ones.
Edit: Yes I know GHQ is 1/285th scale.

I don't even know if 1/600th is a proper scale for soldiers of any sort...are you willing to use 1/300-ish for your project or no? I can't think of any ideas short of making some proxies of your own out of some kind of other material?
PS: How about architectural sources? Not soldiers obviously, but perhaps they sell something that tiny in large packs for cheap? Surely some big models of shopping malls and skyscrapers must use very tiny miniatures for presentation?

1/600th is a great scale and there is a variety of figures avaulable.
Ordered some Tumbling Dice figures (no pictures) that are in the mail.
Oddzial Osmy (O8) miniatures look good (see pico armor) - see http://www.picoarmor.com/pages/products.php?search=infantry for the variety.

Ordered some Tumbling Dice figures (no pictures) that are in the mail.

I've got some aircraft from TD and they look a bit different - more bulky - compared to O8. Don't know if that's the case with the infantry.
WW2 Soviet infantry would be my choice for North Korean and Chinese troops - they used the same weaponry, and you can't see the uniforms anyway (though I think they were similar to the Soviet ones). ;)
I'm using O8 infantry (modern sets) and they're great. They come in two types:
- the lying/crouching ones (like the Soviet WW2 infantry) which seem to be more detailed, but also a bit bigger,
- the standing ones (like Soviet modern infantry) - these are smaller.
I like both of these, though I'm not sure if they would mix well in one formation.
