Update 7 Oct 13 -- more figs added at end of post.
All:
I've just started painting figs for Cthulhu / Dunwitch skirmish gaming (Strange Aeons rules).
For some reason the color balance in my camera has gone insane... background should be a light blue...hmmm.
A construct and a cult leader. (Still debating on the cloak color):

The Agents:

A formless thingy and a rather depressed werewolf:

A larger formless something or other:

Another one, from a different space and time:

And finally some octo-men... will use these with Deep One stats:

Got a bunch more stuff in the pipeline - more agents, creatures and terrain bits.

=============
Reaper Bones "fishmen" (can't remember the funky name they give them):

Another octo-man, and a crabby thing (mfgrs unknown):

Some hermit crab guys (mfgr unknown) , armed with swords. I've tried to paint these weapons as non-metal material. Two are shown, but I have four total to hang with the big crab leader above.

A couple more fishmen. These are Dreamblade figs. I modifed the one to move his arm down, and resculpted the joint.

Think I am going to need some more agents to handle all these guys.

Nice painting - I like the earthy colours highlighted with reds and purples.
-
Nice job!
I like em.
A very varied collection as well!
I am particularly fond of the first formless spawn.
-
Thanks guys. The formless models were fun to paint, though it took me awhile to come up with a scheme.
-
Really like those! The colors are excellent.
The sad werewolf....poor puppy.

I thought he was a shambler (based on the pose) when I first pulled him out of the Big Box O Lead...

I'd agree with the comments on colour choice, there's something very visually pleasing about how you've painted those. You've made a particularly lovely job of the formless things as I imagine they are very easy to end up with a mish mash of colours. Nice work!
-
Thanks for the kind words. These have been fun to paint, and a nice change from zombies. I'm using some wash/filter techniques that I've figured out having done about 300 zeds this past year or so. Just doing it on a larger scale with these bigger creatures. The challenge will be when I get to the Big Buys like Cthulhu himself. :)
I've added some pics of my most recent efforts to end of my OP.

Those Fishmen look fantastic!!! WoW!...I never thought that I'd need to paint up anymore Fishmen in my life...now, you have me thinking... :)
-
Thanks. I really like the sculpt on the Reaper ones. I conscripted them (and some other bigger ones) from my son's Bones KS.
Here's an update on a few of the baddies. Got the basing done this weekend...

Waiting on oval bases (special ordered from Litko) to do the rest of the creatures...
-
No base yet for this guy...still debating on whether it needs one.

This will get one for sure. An old DreamBlade fig I picked up at the Historicon flea market this summer. I was able to remove the large square base this fig came with.

Love that last guy the colours are awesome. "Awesome"? I am an art critic.
-
I think that last one is a monsterpocalypse miniature not dreamblade. :)
-
Thanks. Color scheme decisions are a real pain... Especially when I have no real life examples to work from ... :)
@YPU: Thanks for the correction... I have some other figs in the works that are dreamblade. This was the odd one out.
-
Beautifully disturbing work! Well done! :-*
-
Nice additions!
I like your painting style.
-
Great work!
-
really nice work all around, I'm especially impressed by some of the color palettes you've chosen. Looking forward to seeing your future additions, and thanks for sharing. Oh, and is that Cthuloid cult leader in your first pic a Reaper mini?
-
Thanks, all...
Uniformed troops are so much easier to paint... All the color choices are already made for you.
I think it was either RP or Reaper, not sure...I should probably make note of the mfgr before I do up the bases, especially for older figs. :?

Yes but not nearly as satisfying :)
These are... amazing. A truly great collection with lovely use of colour. I think the fishmen (both sets) might just be my favorites here.

Thanks. I'm really happy with how those bones figs turned out. Have some bigger ones from Reaper I want to do next.
-
Good Job, The fishmen are great miniatures.
-
Excellent work. Need to get some of those Reaper fishmen...hadn't noticed them in the myriad of kickstarter selloffs!
-
Mine were drafted from my son's KS set... :)
Got any good sources for where folks are selling their extras? (aside from evilBay, that is)
-
Nice brush work and a great set of figures.
-
I believe your Cult Leader is "Bthulhu" from the Macho Women with Guns RPG line. Nice job. I wish I'd sprung for some of those Reaper fishmen.

Interesting...didn't know they did anything other than female figs. When I googled for pics, I did run across a few figs from their line which I have, but didn't know who the mfgr was.
The fish men are in Bones now, so should be available from Reaper...
Thanks,
Pacarat

They look great! Richard
-
Good to see those old RAFM Miniatures in all their painted glory! ;)
-
Thanks all...they were fun to paint.
Need to get them into action...sanity checks all around. :o
-
Some cracking figs and excellent paint work, thanks for sharing.
If you take any, some in game shots would be nice too !?
