I picked up a cheap die-cast car off Ebay and decided to strip it a re-paint it as a staff car for my BUF faction, The driver is from Empress Miniatures and the Officer is from Musketeer. Hope you like it.

Nice work! I like the highlights on the canopy and miniatures against the black.
-
Very sinister coloring - well done!

Looks great :-*
That's a good satin finish to the car body that you've got 8)

Very nice indeed. Can you tell us how you painted the black on the vehicle, or the vehicle generally, and how you did the BUF decal ? I've got some cheap diecasts ready to go for a projected BUF force, but I keep being put off by a lack of confidence in painting black and (so far as I know) an absence of BUF decals ? Many thanks.

Thanks for the comments. I'm pretty pleased with how it has turned out.

Normally I paint vehicles black and highlight with dark grey on raised areas and finish with Matt varnish. For this one I stripped it down and experimented on the coachwork by spraying it black with cheap Halfords paint and not highlighting it. The satin effect is from using "Windsor and Newton" Matt spray LOL! The key is allowing it to dry properly before touching it!.
I used black was on the chrome wheels to make them stand out and painted the grill, handles and lights with silver/black mix and highlighted with silver (the original plastic"chrome" looked to much like a toy).
The decals are just printed onto thin paper and allied with PVA prior to varnish spraying. The varnish projects the paper and gives it a slight sheen.
Hope that helps.

So is it just the storm troops left to be done for your BUF gang then? Anything else? LMG team or light artillery?
-
Really top shelf work here. Bravo! Also probably a very useful vehicle for picking up girls in Dover on Bank holidays lol

I've got a Vickers HMG team, a Pak36 AT gun, X1 unit of "Regular" BUF, X1 unit of Black-shorts Assault troops, a Boys AT team and a mortar team to build/paint.
Should keep me busy!!!

I know Pappa's been deep in gladiator-land lately, but I can't help but wondering if we'll have any VBCW updates anytime soon?

I love the white wall tyres!
There may be a war on but that's no reason to let standards slip eh?
