Suddenly we have a raft of Cthulhu models being released. Latest offering is from Scibor:

Looks good but needs to lose the nose shield.......
-
Like it but does seem a bit 'action hero' - more like he aimed for Swamp Thing and got carried away
-
Great detail...but I also hate that nose thing...
-
It's a good day in R'lyeh! Agree on the nose thing though.
-
Overall, it's one of the best I've seen from the latest Cthulhu crop to sprout up.
I know he only wears it because his snoring keeps Mrs. C awake at night, but the nose strip has got to go. ;D
-
Yep, the nose thing has to go.
My first thought: That's really nice
2nd thought: How big is it?
3rd thought: Why does it have that nose thing?
-
Agree, that nose shield really kills the figure.
-
Like others says. Great job ... but WTF is that nose "shield" ?
-
Very nice miniature... but that "nose thing" :'( :` :-X
-
I have a different idea of Cthulhu. For me he has less muscles and is fater. His skin is also smoother.
Well... I don't imagine Cthulhu as this one. Nevertheless this miniature is very well executed.
-
I like this one. I do not like the nose sheild but the overall style and pose reminds me of something off the cover of Eerie or Creepy..

Also interesting is that Scibor has added a category to their shop listing, "28mm Cthulhu Miniatures" and besides the big guy busting out of some dice they've just added two tentacled cultists. And additionally they also have on their "works in progress" page a bust of Cthulhu that isn't looking too bad.

Is your everlasting sleep disturbed by snoring? Are your cultist minions constantly trying to wake you just to stop the noise? If so you need new 'Breathe Ways' anti-snoring strips, now available in Giant Malevolent Entity size.
Disclaimer: Breath Ways may cause hypnotic suggestion and occasional attempts to destroy/take over the world.

lol
-
I agree! It is great sculpt but the nose needs to go!
-
I'd love to see the price.
If it's a resin model, I think that nose shield could be easily enough removed. Not really sure why they'd have put that on anyhow.
-
This is probably my second favorite right now, though that nose thing really throws me off. If that was removed and the pose was made more dynamic I think it'd be a winner all around.
My biggest complaint about the Cthulhu sculpts popping up over the last few years (with the exception of Fenris' which is by far my favorite sculpt) is that they're all so static in their pose. They all look like some guy starting a squat or something.
-
Well... Cthulhu was sleeping as we know... what we did not knew was that he had some serious sleep disorder and was using a nose thing to keep his sleep apneia at bay... lol

Odd, I find this sculpt to be quite dramatic. But I do agree that Fenris one is top notch!!

This one has more movement than most. It's definitely nice to see!

The nose thing has apparently disappeared on the production model:

That's better; now he looks less like a budgie.
-
Meh, don't like it. The texture looks off and he looks too rubber-suited to me.
-
I, for one, rather like this iteration of the cosmic menace.
I grew up reading Creepy, Eerie, and Swamp Thing comics along with their kindred comics and media. For me this is a Cthulhu that might dwell on the cover of an older book or in the pages of one of those newsprint nightmares.

Good call Mr.Claw! I quite like it...more so now with the infamous 'nose thing' removed. Great textures, it has a very otherworldly feel to it.
-
I also like it, my only criticism of the Reaper Bones version was that it lacked texture on the skin for such a large mini (don't get me wrong, I think it's a great model), & this one has improved on it in that sense - it's likely to make make painting a little easier (no large, slightly featureless areas to bring to life).
-
I really liked the green, but I am not liking that production model.
Maybe it's a bad pic, but it looks clumpy or something.
-
It does look a bit lumpy but I think it might show up better with some paint on it.
-
The Claw was right this immediately reminded me of some horror that Wally Wood may have slapped on the cover of Weird Fantasy or some such.
