Title: GW Great War Website
Post by: Driscoles on 16 May 2008, 07:37:28 PM
Games Workshop has a supporting site for The Great War online.

http://www.warhammer-historical.com/great-war/minisite/default.asp?content=default

Found it at the German Sweetwater Forum

Well that's a first.... looks like they are really behind this game and then some. Looks very promising though.

Oh, show some Christian good will, why don't you! Even the Evil Empire may repent their manyfold sins in the end. Just look at Dath Vader!

I am very impressed with the WEsite and hope that there will eventually be a supplement covering the war in East Africa.

Will is the strength of the "Inquisition" ; sin is unforgivable : as a scribe, Cardinal Murray must write 4 verses by post at least.

Normally I'd just write myself a couple of Indulgences, or browbeat my confessor into giving me a pass.
:-I : Do you have anything else to confess, your Eminence?
 >:D : I gazed upon a GW website with approbation. I purchased Foundry figures at full retail. I played my Game Boy instead of painting. And I did all these things with joy in my heart. Do they sound like sins to you?
 :-I : Well...
:-[ : Would you prefer a ministry in the prisons?
 :'(
 >:D : I thought not. Five paternosters, like last time?
 :'( : Yes, your Eminence.

Canto I

Pictures painted to inspire
Leading hearts to man's desire
Endless rolls of barbed wire
German soldiers spewing fire

A change of heart? It comes so late
But shares my interests, such is fate
GW! Thou jolly reprobate
I cannot bring myself to hate

*waves his hanky in a litterary salon fashion and whispers to his neigbour*

"Inspired stuff, certainly, but do we need yet another catholic auteur wringin his hands over his flawed immortal soul? Wasn't it enough with Evelyn Waugh, and to stretch a point, David Lodge?"

Great Site. One of the things GW has always done well is to push their latest offerings with plenty of the glitz that ensares gamers. As I said elsewhere I suspect I will give in and buy these rules to see if I can use them with my 20mm Tumbling Dice minis.

Oh well-for a day or so I thought I had will power.
