Title: Crisis 2013
Post by: Johan on 12 September 2013, 09:41:13 PM
It's only 7 weeks till Crisis 2013
Again in the new venue at Hangar 29 / Rijnkaai / 2000 Antwerp
as usual from 10.00 till 17.00 h
10 euro entry fee
100 or so traders
50 to 60 games

attached is the figure for this year sculpted as usual by Paul Hicks who keeps turning out absolutely fabulous figures.
This one is the Marquis de Séguirant, sieur de Bouc, colonel of the Maine regiment who died in the battle of Eeckeren in 1703.
The battle was part of the Marlburian campaign and the Dutch and their allies of German and Scottisch troops attacked the Frecnh near Antwerp at the village of Eeckeren. (where our clubhouse is situated at the very battlefield) He died in the battle and was buried in the chuchyard just in front of our former clubhouse. As this guy was floowing us around, it was time to make a figure of him. I think that those who don't do the period can still use him as a pirate or gouvernour type of the 18th century, I suppose.

Awsome!!
If anyone gets one and doesn't want it I will very happily pay for it!

Entry fee seems to have gone up. Due to the new location perhaps?

Anyway, I'll be going normally (with the significant other). Who else will be there?

It's worth the price rise as the new location is so much better than the last one. It seems like you can breath at the new one.

The new venue is indeed better than the previous, let's just hope that there isn't a snowboarding ramp under construction on the parking (and a better organisation/parking guards,.... - last year I've seen spots were cars were parked three rows deep, which is a pity if the middle one wants to leave).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'll be working for a trader so I won't get that free mini, right?

I'll be there, somewhere between the Caliver Books stand and the Quatre Bras game, just inside the entrance.

The full In Clouds of Glory  design team (thats me and Thomas) will be there with two participation games:

- A open "join in" ongoing-game with a big French  bomber formation in the middle. When there is room new  Players get a couple of fighters and are thrown into the action either defending or attacking the formation (based on side obviously).
- A more in depth Scenario table, with a couple of  Belgian inspired missions. Expect Felixstowe flying boats against Brandenburgs off the coast and Belgian Hanriots versus Albatrosses over Vlaanderen.

Find us just beside the ginormous Quatre Bras game...

Finaly, after a couple of years I'll be attending once again.
I'll be at the Red Barons table however due to the fact that I'll have worked 12 hours the night before I won't be consuming any wine  ::)
When I'm not at our table, I should be recognizable as the zombie, proudly wearing a LAF badge, giving in to impulse buys  :D

just made it back,

Tin Soldiers of Antwerp - thank You very much for the excellent organisation and hosting of this event!
You've got so many guests attracted to it that the venue was seriously crowded and overwhelming.
Seen many interesting game presentations, a lot of friendly manufacturers and their representatives - all in all, I wouldn't have minded to spend two days there....

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Looked indeed very busy and while we still have to do the numbers, it looks promising.
More games, more traders and more people through the door.

Next year even better.
