As reported elsewhere my Brothers of Iron Kickstarter package arrived; I had chosen the 3 Rheboks set, but have ended up with two.... because I had an idea for a conversion: the Bendibok.
I think this was in part at least inspired by the thread posted elsewhere asking about Bendibuses, and the recent trouble Arriva had with these here in Malta. The Bendibok consists of two tracked Rheboks linked together by a flexible connection.
It has no practical justifiable use, but it's proving to be a fun build. First pics of WIP:
In order to make the model sturdier I pinned the two halves together with a thick metal round section. Note the sponsorship of the conversion work by HSBC....

This is the bendibit - a piece of flexible plastic cable conduit, with connector parts at both ends. The metal bar seen in the above pic is hidden inside.

And here are the two 'carriages' in the Bendibok.

Next: the tracks, followed by the detailing and weapons.

Seeing they sponsored this.... by the way, hope you don't mind my messing around with your design. I might have to buy a couple of others in the future. Nice little - well, not so little - beasties.

You're off to a good start. Looking forward to seeing it put together.
HAVE FUN
-
Thanks - don't wait up, probably will proceed further in the weekend.
I have figured a sort of excuse for it's existence...but I'll keep that back until further progress. :D

Hey dude, conversions are awesome! Why would I mind? I hold very egalitarian attitudes towards miniatures. Cut and paste is the way to go.

Splendid. Hope I do the Rheboks justice.

Can't wait to see where you go with this.

I only managed to continue assembling Bendibok, but at least you can now see where I'm going.

I think I like it...but I think I'd like it more with the top turret on the rear replaced with something more mundane, like fuel tanks, or something of that nature. Looks pretty cool though. As it stands for me it has a good bit of "which end is which?" going on.

Gets a double-ended thumbs up from me!

Sorry lol

OK, I was genuinely thinking of giving it a white + polka dot colour scheme.
Instead I took the advice and changed its appearance slightly.
The Bendibok is now undercoated and awaiting paint - olive drab, or sand, or something a little more colourful....

Meanwhile I had also assembled the third (second?) Rhebok, a wheeled version which will be a fire tender. This is the result of an incorrectly-remembered film - I recall a film issued in the seventies which featured George Peppard, giant scorpions, and a fire tender. The vehicle is NOT a fire tender , but I liked the idea and am sticking to it anyway.
Incidentally the film was the post-apocalyptic Damnation Alley, and the vehicle can be seen here: http://www.tombsofkobol.com/films/damnalley-01.html (http://www.tombsofkobol.com/films/damnalley-01.html)

Yes, sorry about my last post. I think it looks really good.
It was just the design of two fronts that made me think of this 70s psychedelic danish childrens tv show.

If I could paint nose-art, I'd have that polka dot thingy on the Bendibok's mudguard :D
By the way, the long delay was due to a trip to Shanghia (work) and the resulting backlog back at home.
