Title: Interview with Robert Faust (Brink of Battle)
Post by: Anatoli on September 23, 2013, 08:03:57 AM
It has been over a year since Brink of Battle was first published, if you haven't heard about this game it's basically a skirmish game that allows you to play any historical period - from Ancients to Modern Warfare with 3-20 miniatures per side. It's very cleverly written set of rules that pretty much provide endless options and applications of use. This interview with Robert covers a lot of insightful information to the evolution of the core rules, his work on the sci-fi/fantasy expansion and also quite a bit about rules writing/publishing.

It's a very interesting (and long) interview that should quite interesting for gamers and aspiring rules writers alike. At the very end of the interview there is a link to my previous interview with Robert, during the summer of 2012. That interview is all about the rules of Brink of Battle and how the game was created. Combined they should give you a superb insight into the creation of Brink of Battle, but also a good idea of how rules can be developed by an "indie" company.
