As with the weapons sprues I posted in the Swashbuckling section, i'm not sure if these have been mentioned before:

I really like the look of these and feel they would also be useful as VSF/Pulp aliens.

They are nice and as Gluteus suggests ideal for VSF. :)
-
I bought the firearm equipped aliens at Salute, and they are very nice. Not quite so convinced (personally) by the spear armed ones, as I would only really want one as a leader type figure, rather than a pack of 3. The original Alien sculpt they did is more suitable for my needs. All up to their usual high quality castings though.
-
They're great. The heads remind me of the Independance Day aliens. 8)
-
The armed aliens stand 33mm to eye/38mm to top of head. This means they stand taller than humans, which I quite like.
The aliens in the middle and left of the picture are cast with seperate heads.

Too cool!
I would use them for the martians in Rocketship Empires: 1036.

I feel myself drawn towards buying some of these :o
Just for the fun of painting then and then trying to work out how they would fit into my projects. :)
I guess they will be fine for VSF, but then you would need a load for an invasion. -Perhaps its just a scouting mission. lol
For skin colours what do you guys think?
I am thinking pale blue giving way to pale pink around the face and hands/feet.

That would look good - though I'd never be able to blend the colours properly.
The colour pic on the website:

is an attractive colour scheme, if a little bland.

Yes, I bought all 7 as a deal at Salute. They are very nicely done - and a bit unusual too. I have a scenario in mind where they land on prehistoric earth to hunt cavemen...
Bit more interesting than the usual cavemen v cavemen or cavemen v dinosaurs? Just an idea.
I'm thinking of doing the aliens with spotty / cammo skin somehow... But they're about 10th on my list for painting at the moment though... :(

I like the skin idea. My idea for them is that they are a kind of sentient descendant of the dinosaurs who live in a lost world with dinos as their beasts of burden etc. Similar to the idea in the "East/West of Eden" books by [IIRC] Harry Harrison. They seem more suitable than the usual Lizardmen - although I may use these as the massed soldiers under their command.
Mind you, I need to save up, buy some and then paint them before i can even consider using them.
They should be ready in 10 years or so lol

As I read down the posts I was thinking they would probably lend themselves well to having some kind of spots on the skin and then I see the Capt. beat me to it.
He must have a great mind as great minds think alike ;)

I am liking this idea more than my blue skin look. So how does one go about achieving a spotted skin look? To make it work, any suggestions?
-
If you have ever painted Waffen SS camouflage I would try that, the spotted skin wold tend to be on the outer parts of the body with typically a plainer underside like a lizard.
As for colours you can mix and match. I did this with warrior bugs to convery them to Tiger bugs for SST :)

I'll try to paint a test model over the next week or two and share how the spots turn out... I'm thinking browns - maybe sandy coloured skin with red-brown to reddish blotches...

Looking forward to seeing what you do. :)
I am finding it difficult to resist buying these figures. Even though they will be of limited use to me and will in all probability sit on the lead pile for ages... lol
