Title: Warlord Games purchases Arsenal Miniatures range
Post by: Kingscarbine on October 11, 2013, 12:23:25 PM
I talked with Paul Hicks and intended to buy the range but he hadn't any information about the whereabouts of the figures. Pro Gloria was also interested in the models but it looks like Warlord got to them: http://www.warlordgames.com/39991/warlord-games-purchases-arsenal-miniatures-range/

This is great news - they are beautiful sculpts.  :)

I may have to start my Maltese Corsair project I've always wanted to do... Oh no!

I know of at least two other companies/people + myself, who were interested in the range for some time but afaik no reaction from the previous owner, so this comes as a bit of surprise.

However, it's good to see the range finally getting into production.

Warlord do a lot of this, buying up little companies with excellent models who are having trouble getting the most out of them, either because of lack of funds or lack of time or whatever.

I'd say it's a win-win situation for all sides, but I hope Warlord aren't over-stretching themselves financially and expanding too quickly. The last thing we want to see is them collapsing just as they're really hitting their straps.

PS. There's a certain Malta-obsessed person I think will be very excited about this.

I hope they expand the range as I'm still waiting for a good late 16th century 28mm line of figures. TAG also has plans for an Elizabethan range for quite some time.

I would also like to say that I was also very shocked to find that Warlord had been able to contact the owner and had purchased the range. Very pleased to see that they will see the light of day.

Hooray!  Maybe now the 16th century will no longer be the stepchild of figure manufacturers.

What does the range consist of? I could only find a couple of pictures on a blog.

Hear hear. Great figures Paul, and I'll certainly be getting them. Glad they've finally made it onto the market.

They mentioned that two members of their Forum help them. Maybe it was a problem of language. I think the owner is italian.

I also hope so, but we should wait and see.

Fantastic news. I though Pro Gloria could, finally, buy them, but it is also a great news.

Great sculpts but hopefully someone has the sense to get some more sculpted and organise the pike packs by pose. Buying a a pack of pike with four different drill positions and no variants to each would be a big turn off.

Hopefully Warlord will do Ottoman Turks now to give the Arsenal figs an enemy.  Or at least finish the Poles - i could do a lot with convertable plastic Hayduk infantry

Yes! Honestly, I'd be happy with any plastic 17th-century infantry in calf-length coats. Haiduks, Janissaries, streltsy, whatever. Just give me one...

Never heard of them, can't find any info on them or any pics other than the 1 in the article.

But so long as they aren't as rubbish as the dread models they've wasted money, time and effort on
