Title: Archaeology Site
Post by: marianas_gamer on 12 October 2013, 12:28:31 PM
Like several other fellows here I have had some extra time off because of the US government shutdown.  So, I decided to work on a Pulp archaeology site while I was off.

I painted up and based three groves of date palms, a couple of tents, a sphinx, a storage trunk, and a lion sculpture.  As usual I used cork coaster pads as bases.  They cut up and take paint well.  Here is a closer view of the site including a scratch built screen

Here is a view of the camp site and an excavated statue.

I expect much of this to migrate to the Back of Beyond fairly quickly (except for the sphinx). As usual, my photos are less than optimal but I hope that you get the gist.
C and C always welcome

Very nice, sir!
And you should know what these things look like, of course.
 :-* :-*

I think the photos add to the effect.

Thanks for the tip on the cork coasters, too.
An excellent idea.

Speaking as a Brit, great to see something positive coming out of the impasse on Capitol Hill  ;)

Very nice!  :-* I like the screen. Sorry about the furlough, we have friends in a similar position. Still, you're using your time off well.  :)

Very nice!
I'm most envious though, there's never been a sphinx on any of my digs. A hidden marijuana stash once, but never a sphinx  :D
