Title: Apocalypse in Paris
Post by: Daysman on 15 October 2013, 08:16:19 PM
Hi,

In November, I will play a 7ombies game with three friends.

Presently I'm creating a board of Paris. The goal for the 4 heroes  (1mini/player) is to cross diametraly the board - full of zombies of course - from the VW van (Ooh nooo, no fuel anymore... ) untill the 7TV helicopter at the top of the building (okay, I'm inspired by the World War Z movie  :D )

Work is in progress but here below some pictures. The board is 1x1 m. The miniatures on the pictures are not the ones we will playing with.

Comments welcome !

Beautiful - needs a bit more scatter terrain between buildings, but the vibe is great.

thans for your comments  :)

Yes, indeed, I need to put much more debris in the streets (it is too clean like this!) and more trees in the "Champs de Mars".
But I think I won't make wreckages with the cars. It is so sad to destroy a toy  lol

I bought the tower here :
http://www.seriouspuzzles.com/i7544.asp
It is not a puzzle but a carboard/foam model.

the fences are bought in a "electric trains" shop. I will try to find the name of the producer (marklin ?) and their particular scale (O / HO ?).

Thanks! If you finde the producer please tell me. In the meantime I´ll pay visit to my lokal minitrainshop and have a look around.

Are the pillars between the fence sections from the sam kit?

@Abrelax : I don't have the packaging anymore. I remember only that it's a German train producer. In the kit, there are 11 fences and 1 gate, 12 pilars and 12 green "pots". I only painted the arrowhead in gold and the pots in stonegrey.

If you do find in your trainstore, send me a PM.

Nice board.

@abrelax : Kibri does a fencing set with pillars and a gate in HO scale, but if you want to stick to O-scale, do a search on google for O-scale fencing. Some chinese stores sell these for peanuts.

I can just see the masses of walking dead shambling through that terrain!  Very nice.  :)

Daysman: Thanks, I´ll try to find it. Will tell you if I do.

zizi: I´m not that stuck to O-scale as long as it fits my 28 mm models. I´ve had a good googling, but it´s really hard to tell if something is good by just looking att pictures of items online...

True. A friend bought a bunch of HO lantern poles for our 20mm berlin table and they turned out to be rather small (I actualy put them on 2cm styrene rod to get an acceptable height)

Now that is a nice set up! The use of that foam Eiffeltower 3d puzzle is just inspired!

You said you didn't want to destroy toys to make car wrecks. Have you considered plaster casting? There's a nice article on the Combat Zone Chronicles: http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxb/plastrex.htm (http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxb/plastrex.htm)
I've done this myself and have had satisfactory results.

I found it! It´s a Busch Gmbh & Co Kg HO scale wrought iron fence. Now I just have to find somewhere to buy it.
