Title: battlefleet gothic ork space hulk
Post by: crashhead on 17 October 2013, 09:22:41 PM
Does anyone know of a good base for an ork space hulk?
I've been looking into firestorm armada but I dont have clue about the scale.
So if anyone has a scale pic compared to GW models I would appreciate it alot.

Any other space ships that spring to mind?

I'm sure many of the ships from Ground Zero Games would work well, if you're up for converting. That said they do lack the Gothic styling.

for an ork hulk, cut up a couple of other ships and bash them together - going on the fluff, Orks do that - fuse different wrecks together.

I read the words 'orc space hulk' and my mind went somewhere else. "Hey Sarge, do those genestealers look green to you?"

that, buy a load of micromachines, smother in glue and clump together.

See what others have done:

I think raiding your bits box (all scales!) is the way to go.

There was never an official model for an ork hulk, the one in the book was just kitbashed using foam rock/asteroid as the base (so are most of the ones on that google search) but anything of similar size to the other Battleships in BFG would work. I used to use one of the Zentraedi spaceships as mine, just because Macross is awesome. I'm sure firestorm has something that would fit close enough to the ork aesthetic, or get an old ZOIDS toy robot and glue some engines on it, I remember them having some cool looking robo T-rexes

Yeah but don't wreck a zoid for a bloody ork hulk! Buy some broken badly painted gothic ships and stick em together.  Fill gaps with with filler, pva and sand to create the hollowed out asteroid effect and there u go.
