Title: Serbian/Montenegrin , any resistance/ guerillas 1916-18 ?

Hello,

    after the Austrian-Hungarians and Bulgarians occupied  Serbia and Montenegro in 1916 were there any

  armed ressistance or guerilla groups ?

Yes, while the name is probably more associated with the exploits of their Second World War incarnation, the (in)famous Chetniks operated during the Great War too. They fought the Austro-Hungarian Gendarmes and Military Police, the Bulgarian army and Albanian para-militaries.


You might be able to find out more if you google "Chetniks" and "Toplica Uprising."

During the early part of the Century, in the Balkan Wars period, they looked like something right out of a Tintin book...

Does anyone make Balkans Wars - WW1 Serbs & Montenegrins in 28mm?

I notice there are some Montenegrin irregulars "in traditional dress" in that Tiger miniatures range. No picture of them, but they might make suitable guerillas for the Great War period.
