I need to ask are the Japanese villains like prussia, heroic themed like lord Curr or are you putting together a verity of Japanese themed leagues? I just wondering as I spent some time teaching in Japan and I am interested in the very diverse cultures found there. I find that Japan often falls into the villain role because as a country they did a lot of bad things during the late 19th and first half of the 20th century, especially in China. Though at the same time there were many amazing acts of honour and heroism performed by Japanese that get lost in all the terrible atrocities performed by the Japanese military. If these are Thule level baddies I may have to dig into my history book collection and make rag tag group of heros to challenge them and if not I will have to throw together a league.

interesting stuff coming along...
one small remark:

since the word "oriental" has different meanings through time and space, in addition to being useless in Australia and also considered demeaning in north America, I suggest You use the phrase "something Asian this way comes"   ;)

My dear boy, this is 1895  lol

In this period the Far East was still called The Orient, and it's inhabitant 'Orientals'. it was considered the polite and correct term. They had many more words for people from that region which I am not using I can assure you.

Currently on the slate being written for Japan we have Samurai Traditionalists, a Ninja clan, the Yakuza, the Kempetei and maybe one or two others.

Personally I don't see the Society of Thule as the bad guys. They're just a little misunderstood  ;)

It doesn't matter to me, I can assure You  ;)
I just thought You are advertising for people from 2013 - I did not even know that Asian people from NA consider this a slur - I was more irritated because I had expected to see something from the near east....

have it Your way....

I am surprised you are leaving out all the interesting secret societies as they developed espionage
programs by linking secret societies with ultranationalist aims—such as Genyosha (Dark Ocean Society), Kokuryu-kai (Amur River Society or Black Dragon Society.

As to the appropriate nature of the term "Oriental" in the Victorian age:

I've been researching archaeologists of the period, and the term was very common in academia, let alone the rest of the world. For example, James Breasted (b. 1865), a leading American Egyptologist,  became the United States' first university chair in "Egyptology and Oriental History" in 1905. In 1919 he became the founder of the "Oriental Institute" at the University of Chicago.

Originally the term referred to Egypt and the Levant; by 1895 the Orient encompassed non-European peoples not just in India and points east, but northern Africa as far west as Morocco, and even into south-eastern Europe.

Two questions come to mind:

1) Singh with sword, but no BFG?

2) Whose behind IS the Giant Rat of Sumatra? (Okay, that's rhetorical)

A good point.

It is worth reminding everyone that the Company lists in the book are advisory. We actively encourage you to adapt, amend, abuse and update the lists to suit the game you and your comrades are playing. But always get their agreement to any changes you wish to make, before you start play.

Really? I'll have to watch that; hate to make a trend.  :D

Anyway, it was as much a set up for an obscure reference to Firesign Theatre.  lol
