Very nice choice of colours. And the expression on some of their faces is amusing.
-
Very nice indeed :-* :-*
I do like the Perry ECW figures 8)

Well done! The colors are very striking. :-* :o
-
A good looking regiment! Perhaps Tilliers or Warrens? Look forward to seeing more.
-
Cheers guys
more on the way !
-
Bold and bright. What's not to like? They're certainly going to stand out on the tabletop.
Good work :)
-
like them a lot :-*
-
Was blown away when I saw these today, the photo's certainly don't do them justice! Very cool and very tempting period to get into..... :D
-
Superb stuff again mate!
-
excellent brushwork, I especially like the subtle shading on the flag.
-
Thanks all -
I have been thinking on how to go about building this force and possibly down the track also a parliamentarian army and decided to do something old school and use the scenario from Charles grants "wargame tactics' as a basis. The battle of "fiddlers bottom" lots of models and an interesting set up with potential for lots of re-playability.
-
Great looking figures.
Love the colors.
-
Great Tilliers Regiment mate. Could i use these on the website Gallery when i get it setup?
-
If you Pm me when you are setting up your gallery ill send you some better shots - my brother in law is a photographer and i plan to get him to take better photo's.
Also will have the whole regiment done in the next few weeks with colonels stand and flag as well.
-
It is inspirational work like this that made me sign up to LAF when I discovered it a couple of weeks ago. I need to dust off my ECW collection and give it a good revamp as it was painted and based many years ago and is looking a bit tired.
They have given me many a fun couple of hours using "1644" which are not perfect but are entertaining.
Sometimes you need a push to get on and do something and your figures certainly do that.
Cheers
Johno

Thanks Johno :)

These are fantastic. Are they all Perry minis?
-
Thanks and apart from the musketeer commander all are perry miniatures - I'm also testing out some TAG miniatures to go with the perry's
-
Very nice brushwork. They'll look even better with a few more regiments to keep them company on the table.

Really nice set of photos of a lovely regiment. I love the Perry miniatures ECW but they are a bit small and can take a lot of cleaning up. They are very reasonably priced though...
You will find the TAG miniatures to be similarly styled but a little taller, although a fairly good match (IMHO). I mix the Warlord plastics too although I am the least keen on these.

Great stuff :-*
Are the round bases for casualties or moral?

Not being that familiar with Black Powder for ECW am I right in thinking each command base tracks hits on the different wings of Shot and the Pike block seperately from the other ?
Neat idea sinking those die into the terrain, simple but effective and no danger of forgetting to drag them along behind the unit which I have sometimes done !!

Hi Johno,
Thanks and yes in Pike and Shotte (Black Powder Rules for ECW) each wing and the pike block is a separate unit, so you need to track all of them.
Im not convinced the rules are creating the right effect as you end up having all these small units running around.
But its a fun game non the less.

Excellent!

Wonderful painting! 8)

I do very much like them. I will copy your choice of colors for my coming regiments, If you don't mind.
Cheers

I have used 1644 for my ECW games "since I were knee high to a bucket topped boot" and personally I swear by them (or at them depending on how well the game is going). A couple of local amendments with casualties from shooting being distributed between the pike and shot by the throw of a die on an odds or evens basis and a ruling that Pike and shot must remain in base to base contact and act as one unit unless they are specifically detached ( forlorn hope etc) seems to do it for me.
I am a simple soul at heart !!
