Can anybody tell me where to get the figures Pete Murray shows in round 8 of the lead painters league. They were the Asien Korps. ???

Those are German uniforms for Palestine during the Great War, by the way (though you probably already knew that).
-
The uniforms were in use in the southern balkans and at Baku, too.

yep, the guy on the left on the osprey cover (see attachment) is referred as Feldwebel Light Infantry, Baku September 1918.
Edit: actually thanks to Pete for showing up them, I`ve completely forgot these great minis.

Whilst I like the idea of the tropical uniform for Georgia, there isn't really much in the way of evidence for it being worn as far as I can tell. Pretty much all the photos I've seen show standard field grey uniforms. If you look closely at the photo that the Osprey author claims is an example of it's wear it becomes apparent that the supposed wearer is actually wearing a standard temperate uniform and that it's the b&w photo or the light suggesting otherwise. Still when I get around to my Germans forGeorgia no doubt I'll buy the BG ones in tropical kit because (a) it looks cool (b) I'll get double use out of them for Palestine.

The Asien Korps command pack is a pretty handy pack to have, as the chaps in it can be used for all kinds of things. The fellow with the long coat was the starting point for my Feldrabbiner conversion, and I converted the chap with the Broomie into a Schutztruppe officer by the simple expedient of shaving off one of his cockades.*
*A painful operation, having your cockade cut off, but he made a full recovery.

Here is a link talking about the German Expeditionary Force to Georgia. Some nice pics too. 8)

Actually I had no real idea what the uniform was, merely educated guesses. The uniform looks a great deal like Alex Raymonds Mongo Desert Legion in his Flash Gordon comic strip. lol

Hi Carlos,
It seems there are a number of uniform variations for this enterprise. It seems from the link I posted and also my research material that units were pulled from various fronts to fulfil this mission under Kress.
So for gamers/collectors it offers loads of possibilities.
