Title: [Boshin War] Imperial troops painted
Post by: rokurota on November 01, 2013, 06:19:54 PM
As title says, I have painted the Imperial troops pack (BW-02) of Bac Ninh Miniatures. The nirayamagasa (battle hat) have been painted with one golden line, but there was many designs with the golden color as leading. I will publish on my blog (http://bacninhminiatures.blogspot.com.es/) pictures with some of these designs.

I hope you like them!

Excellent! What army would that be? I know nothing about this period and I'm guessing how to paint mine.

Many thanks for the comments!
Pentaro, they can represent the Imperial army, or clans loyalist to the emperor as Chosu or Tosa, but not Satsuma because they worn a conical hat called hatsumurigasa. Separate heads with hatsumurigasa will be the next release. ;)

Thanks! I find the Tosa hat painful to look at, so I'll choose any other clan :D

The mix of western and traditional japanese gear makes these armies really attractive to me. I've seen somewhere pictures of officers in western civilian clothes which would make great miniatures.

I am growing more and more interested in this period with each release.  Nice sculpts and paint work.   :)

Thanks a lot! I bought the trees on ebay and they are very cheap, but don't have a base.

Now that's a nice hint! Thank you. They look great! Cherry-blossom trees seem to be a MUST if people do Samurai-things... well in fact... they really are  :D
