Title: Do Trolls rock 'n roll?
Post by: Legion1963 on 04 November 2013, 09:45:42 PM
Well...hell they do. At least the one i saw this evening. And before you start thinking that i am definitely on my way to lala land read on. I have just watched Snowwhite and the huntsman. Quite an entertaining take on the original fairytale by the brothers Grimm. To my humble opinion it has some very good scenes and is shot in beautifull surroundings, i think in parts of Ireland and England.
However one creature i liked very much was the Troll. Would love to have one in miniature. 28mm scale that is.

I would have thought they were more attuned to "rap" music - played on the skulls of their victims...

Leaving now...

Gracias,

I couldn't stand the main actress (the Twilight girl) but I thought the movie was very cinematic...a lot of great scenery and very well envisioned.  I'll have to pick up a copy sometime.  They didn't include the troll in the theater version!   :-I

(despite teasing us with its appearance in the trailer)

This Deathfiend (http://www.dark-art-studios.co.uk/dark-art-studios_shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_23&products_id=95) from Dark Art Studios seems a pretty close match (read direct copy):

Rob and Axiom - I now hate you two.  I have no need or use for these figures but want them  ;D

Legion - You may find http://www.atlasofwonders.com/2012/06/snow-white-huntsman-film-locations.html (http://www.atlasofwonders.com/2012/06/snow-white-huntsman-film-locations.html) of interest  :)  If you do come over to see the locations first hand (via Hull is normal for the ferry) let me know and we will go for a drink...

The actress who played the daugther of the king was somewhat famliar but i did not recognize her as being 'the Twilight girl'. The role had much more in it i thought. The version that i watched was 122 minites but i am not sure if that is the extended version.

Lawfull Evil! You are on the right page....in a manner of speaking. The title of my topic was inspired by that song by Tony Joe White. A great singer/songwriter and still going strong. Thanks for that YouTube clip.

Saw him live earlier this year. It was just him, his guitar and an old dude on the drums on stage. About half way through the set he stopped to take requests from the audience, but he couldn't understand our Australian accents and we in turn couldn't understand his heavy southern accent, so he just continued playing what he felt like! The place was packed, so he got a good reception at least.

Okay! I missed him this time around. He's one those artists that have been around for so long and you can't imagine him not being there anymore.
