Title: Brandenburger Hussaren (Calpe 28mm)
Post by: 14th brooklyn on November 06, 2013, 10:56:59 AM
So I finally start catching up on my blog with the things I painted last month. First up are the Brandenburger Hussaren:

Hope you enjoy them;

Burkhard

And just as a short pre-view (more clickable pictures and historic info on the blog):

Nice work Burkhard!
I painted up a bunch or Calpe Hussars myself awhile ago. They are fun to paint.
Nice historic write up.

One thing I did learn about painting faces, was to do an undercoat of light flesh, then wash with GW flesh wash and highlight.
It really stands out, and is so simple.
Just a humble suggestion.

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks Thomas!

Now regarding the faces... I would take up your tip, but this is already the way I have been doing it for years now! ;) I still have two pots of Orgyn Flesh stored for this reason. I found that this is the best... At least if you thin it down with about 50% water.

Cheers,

Burkhard
