hi guy,
well after my brother "dinuovolui" suggetsted me becoming a member of this community - what I am now - I´d like to show you the very first board I made, which now owns my bro .
Hope you enjoy the pics.
It´s made of styrofoam, card board, straws etc.
best regards little brothers stuff

That is an awesome piece of wasteland.
Great job!
-
thank you mate and best regards
-
This is excellent work. The modelling is very "clean" and well done, but the painting really sets it apart - great use of greys, browns and rusty shades all blended into a very good overall effect.
-
Great build. :-*
-
Welcome aboard little brother.
Nice build. I like the sign and the slime.
Cheers
Matt.
-
Nice terrain mate keep up the good work
-
Very cool terrain.
The place look miserable (but in a great post-apocy kind of way)
:-*
I like the loose artistic approach to how you painted it all up as well.
And I love the vehicle thing!
-
Nice and grimy!

you´re totally right it does really look miserable :D I am glad you like it. Since I was a child and started watching all those doomsday movies I´ve been stuck on it and when my brain starts creating, no matter if I paint or just do modelling works, the most things turn out somehow like this stuff :D
-
Very gritty, I love it. I really like the chariot looking defensive position.
-
MASSIVE table Mate!
-
Hey folks,
you might already know the defensive chariot, but a good friend of mine took the image and add another background - of course it´s digital, but I like it the same way.
best regards little Bro :D
-
Toxic, desolate, irradiated, filthy, lethal... what's not to like?
Great job.
-
thanks mate...
lately I had an idea, I´ll be trying to make a diorama from a picture that I painted once, you can take a look at it on my site if you like to - http://marov-art.jimdo.com/expo-i/
just let me know what do you think etc., bye guys
Litlle Bro
-
PS. the one I mean is titled "Adaptable"
-
Another image you might have already seen here, but this one has been also changed. A friend did add another background, looks interesting to me.
salut little bro
-
:o,looks great,congratulate your friend.

Really cool terrain pieces!
:-*
-
some piece I made of simply card board,
a stone wall/ruin with bars coming out...
PS: card borad isn´t that bad, getting sturdier when it´s painted!
-
An older diorama I made of styro foam, that I coated with gypsum and then painted it with acryl, unfortunately the images might be a little blurred, sorry guys.
best regards LB
-
Well done painting the ruined wall LB. The texture is very rich and interesting to look at. You have prepared a visual feast.
Good to see some sci Fi building materials other than concrete bunkers: "superstrong alien honeycomb". ;)
Cheers

Hi guys,
well just like I told you a couple of days ago, I´d wanted to start a diorama inspired by a drawing, it wont be a 1:1 copy but something that will match.
Now here some images from some wagons I am still working on, and they seem to be turning out good so far... let me know
bye and best regards LB
-
...and here some more images and more still to come
byeeieieiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lol
-
added some more things to the wagons and modified them a little. Further I built some more stuff for the upcoming Dio., hope to go on like this, painting everthing and finally show you the finished board... bye
LB
-
Like it.

I like the wood paneling/floor and how it folds down for access. What was your reasoning there LB? Does it work?
Cheers
Matt
-
thanks guys.
well the idea with that trapdoor was, just in case you have to escape, because in front of your wagon is a bunch of villains waiting for you to make you down, so that trapdoor possibly could be you last way out and survive. Of course everything´s fictitious but you never know, right :D??? Furhter it just fits really good right there.
bwst regards
-
PS: it does work, it´s actually movable, you can fold that trapdoor. Next time I will add a image from undereath ok, so then byeieieieiei!
-
Sorry LB, I meant about the folding walls. In your pictures the wall is laying flat. It is unusual, as most builds I see have solid walls.
Trapdoors can be very helpful. You just need to mark the exit point some how when you game.
Cheers
Matt
-
totally missunderstanding CB o_o,
it is because the walls aren´t glued yet, thought it would be much easier to paint the whole interior as long as at least one side stays down.
Thanks for the hint marking that trapdoor while playing, but like I said it will just become a diorama, nothing to play with. Further I don´t really play, you know, maybe my brother comes up with an idea, where he can use it...will see,
cheers LB
-
I have many ideas and this is the worst part, because I simply short on time and in most cases the player, since my brother like more the making. ;)

Ah , ease of painting. That makes sense. But could it be used to enable gameplay or will it just hinder storage, an interesting question to ponder.
Cheers

This thread is amazing dude. Love the first piece on page one. How big is that exactly. It looks enormous. The stuff on page 2 looks great too. Amazing use of cardboard. Call me inspired, I got loads of cardboard stashed for terrain making too. :D
-
thanks a lot every body.
You are right brother, but time´s always less - a rare good, right :?
Well CB, as far as I am concerned this board/diorama could be used to enable gameplay, maybe in the future there will be a chance figuring it out. It would be sad let this thing end up somewhere stored. I am certain there will be any use of it. Further I´d rather give it away or even sell it, in order to make someone happy, than let it become buried under dust.
Hey Diakon thanks to you I really appreciate it.
The board measures about 1 m of length/ nearly 40 inches and as you recogognized it has a triangle form. The largest side measures 50 cm/nearly 20 inch so far. Great when things are inspiring, so don´t hold back, start using your stashed cardboard dude.
For example I´ve been mostly inspired using it by this guy - http://www.youtube.com/user/theDMsCraft?feature=watch
so cheers LB

Hi guys
here´s an update of my diorama project "Adaptable" so far. Lately I´ve been a little busy but at least I started the terrain, cut some pieces of my good old card board - ahh what a aroma dude lol. Arranged everything to give it a propper shape, but take a look your self.... bye
PS: beside the "Adaptable" Dio. I finished another diorama, a delayed x-mas gift for a friend of mine hope he likes it as you too - pictures following.
cheers LB
-
Man sorry, here are the pix

-
thanks to my brother dinuovolui, he donated the zombie
-
at least one image with the visible LED lamp shining on it
salut
-
Great work so far. :-* I look forward to seeing that large peice finished.
I may have to look into cardboard as a modelling medium.
-
That large "Diorama" looks very game-able. Looking great. :D
Love the USB lamp. I'd love to get something like that for christmas.
-
@Diakon
will be game-anle for a skirmish.I will try to make some little Game on it with LB,i know he is an builder and not realy is a gamer, but we will wait and see.

over and out
-
a coupe more ;)
-
and a couple more
-
Heh, image overload. Any sketches or whatnot of what you plan the finished item to look like? Going for a mining town type affair?
-
Nice but the openings on the edges should be made tight.

Hi there and thanks for your comments so far, will keep it in mind bro.
Hey Wyrmalla, I don´t have any sketches, only a painting I refer to. Like I mentioned before, I am working on a diorama, probably a playable one, but it won´t be a 1:1 copy of the painting, rather than a kind of another interpretation of it.
but here´s a picture of the painting, making it easier to understand what my idea is...
let me know what you think ok -
best regards LB

That is an awesome painting dude. :-* It's yours, yes? Love it.
-
I have to say the corrugated cardboard isn't a material of choice tbh, especially when you can see it in the final finished product. Try to cover it during prep more fully and you should be ok.
cheers
-
Hi everyone,
thanks Diakon glad you like the painting - yes indeed it´s mine.
Refering to the card board as a material, it isn´t the common sort of material, but I´ll be trying it out, because I´d really like to see how it turns out in the end, but I keep your advices in mind for sure, thanks so far and just make good guys,
LB

I may sketch a bit before I make a model, but ah... that's definitely something else. :D
-
Well, here a bit of progress I made so far, nothing else but colors in LB-Factory and I am getting o_o but I love it
best regards little brother...
-
more of that
-
the rest sorry fro the wrong angled ones

Nice.
(Finde das Ofenrohr extrem lang)

thanks bro ;)
PS.(Noch nicht angepasst worden!)

I love the colors you used in this dio man, really pops and keeps everything interesting.
When I use the corrugated cardboard in many of my customs, I do try to cover the edges with glue, then when i pain, I just paint over it and it disappears into the shadows.
I use cardboard OVER foam core to keep things light for shipping....and after all the glue and paint has dried, it makes for a pretty sturdy game or display piece.
Don't forget, your base has to be sturdy....weather it is the base of a terrain piece or the base part of a miniature.....i use many different styles of cardboards and heavy card stocks to achieve this...some corrugated and some heavily compressed.
Keep up the good work man,
Cheers,
Carl
