Title: Chaos warriors landed from the sky
Post by: Korwin Miniatures on 07 November 2013, 06:27:30 PM
“Your excellency.

We have information about new threat from the north. First our wizards informed about strong fluctuation of wind of magic. Then we got letters from Kislev about big falling star seen in the north around the same time as the fluctuation.
Now I received rapport from the interrogation of some Norse pirates in Nordland. They say that far in the chaos wastes landed from the sky huge fortress. The army from that fortress was shooting everybody who come close to it with powerful magic. They also took some prisoners. Now they send column of chaos warriors from it. They are marching south, to the Empire. They differ to the other chaos armies in that they do not accept any chaos champions to join them. They kill everybody they can.
Last thing: They call themselves Adeptus Astartes.

I hope this informations will help as to get ready.

Sigmar, give as a strength.

Cleric Corvinus”

“Your excellency.

We have more information about new army in the north from Kislevite scouts.
Most of the Adeptus Astartes are chaos warriors in white and green armours and tunics...

Nice painting/idea. They're giving me memories of third edition with chaotic angels. My copy is in a box somewhere.

Nice idea with Fallen Angels as they were sent though space and time, but Fallen Angels wear black armour of the pre-heresy Dark Angels.

...There are bands of warriors bigger then others, that are probably chosen ones...

...Some bands have armours of different colours: blue, red, silver, grey, yellow. That is probably sign of different gods they are serving...

Grey knights as "chaotic" A terrific idea. If that's not confusing I wouldn't know what is :)

Really like the idea and look forward to how you are going to present other units  such as marauders, knights (bikers?) monstrous cav, dragon Ogres etc. etc.

It is not that Gray Knights are really chaotic but that how they would be seen if they landed in Chaos Wastes. They would see it as Chaos infested planet and kill anybody on their way.
Now my army got information that in the south there are people who call themselves The Empire and who worship God - Emperor. So they have send scouting force to check it out.

Are they here to look for one of the lost Primarchs, Sigmar, perhaps?  :D ;)

Really cool idea and execution. Genestealers as Trolls! lol  Love the idea so far; keep it going...

Sorry to spoil the party, but shouldn't this be in the Sci-Fi forum?

I think it's meant to be space marines visit the warhammer world. Something I kinda fancy doing myself, well a few space marines as knights or something.

If they're not to choosy, they could have Newt Gingrich & Mitt Romney.

That aside, your brushwork & basing are TERRIFIC...VERY WELL DONE!

Please excuse me for saying this, but a can't imagine anything more likely to bring on a terminal case of The Deep Purple Horrors that the thought of Space Nazis in a Fantasy setting.

Very interesting project, reminds me of the early days when GW blurred the lines of the fantasy and scifi universes.

Exactly; back in the day, you could actually equip your Chaos warriors with Bolters and Chainswords and the like (in books like The Lost and the Damned, and Slaves to Darkness). In the earlier (sadly reconned into oblivion) fluff, the WHFB world was located somewhere in a pocket in the Eye of Terror, the Old Ones were the same Old Ones as those in the 40K universe and the Slann connected both settings (just like the Chaos gods and (almost) all the races in the games).

I'm pretty sure that 40K evolved from WHFB when they expanded the setting from a bog standard fantasy world into a bog standard fantasy world with a whole galaxy around it. 40K/RT filled in the gaps (or void, if you will :D ) around that bog standard fantasy world, by directly exporting and expanding all themes and races into space.

Later, GW severed all links between the two settings, but even as late as the Albion Summer Campaign in the late nineties (or was it early 2000s?), there were 40K links in WHFB. For instance, in that campaign, players could win awards such as Boltpistols and Powerfists!

I actually like those links between the systems, so I have a Chaos Sorceror kicking around somewhere, with a holstered Boltgun hanging form the pommel of his horse... ;)

Yes, I remember those rewards.  The Amazon warband for Mordheim was allowed some pretty high-tech weaponry as well.  Laser pistols and staffs.
