Title: Of Gods And Mortals - Roman Pantheon
Post by: damianlz on November 07, 2013, 08:53:38 PM
I'm loving this game but have been thinking about what people would do for the  Roman Pantheon. I'm currently doing an italian hill tribe and a late roman army and I'm wondering what people would put under the Roman panoply. I know that we could just use the Greek panoply but the shifting roman religions and the adoption of additional/new religions makes me wonder. I'm not an expert on roman religion but I'd love to get some input.

Roman Kingdom
Lupa - the wolf that mothered Rome
Mars
Romulus & Remus

Republican Rome
Greek Pantheon?

Early Imperial Rome
Greek Pantheon
Mithras
Various celtic gods/myths

Late Imperial Rome
Christian Pantheon
archangel
Cherubim
- Christian Icons carried by soldiers that infer benefits/buffs

I have the same idea.(mainly because i have just painted a couple of beautiful Aventine miniatures hill tribe figs).
I am planing (after finishing painting the celtic deal figs) to use the greek gods under their roman names and find some suitable roman god figs.
You got any pics of your hill tribe figs?
