Title: Space Pulp (AAR p.2)
Post by: Melnibonean on November 08, 2013, 07:11:20 AM
Greetings folks,

I have a PA game planned for tomorrow at my club so I got to painting up a few figures. I've wanted to use my Space Heroes figures for a while so I got a few Valkiree (from Hydra Miniatures) ready to fill out a league. So here they are Captain Quasar & the Astro Girls. I have a feeling they'll be fighting a league of evil Space NAZI's tomorrow.

As you can see Capt Dirk Quasar isn't the smartest guy in the galaxy but he is good at punching people. So that leaves Trixie Nova to provide the smarts even though she looks like a bit of a dingbat (she's fast too).

Astro Girl - Trixie Nova - Astro Girl - Capt Dirk Quasar - Astro Girl - Commander Zorra - Astro Girl (Blaster)

This afternoon I decided that my new league needed a spaceship (either to explore or to zoom around the galaxy). So I whipped up this little beauty.
It's made from a $2 ant farm that I found in a local thrift shop. All I had to do was add some engines and a few little details.
The tractor beam on the bottom is made from a disposable plastic champagne flute.

WOW!
You got the mega pack. All I found was a crappy little set with one sphere. I guess that's why it only cost $2. ;D

All of your painting look awesome! We really like those miniatures and we'd probably use them for our sci-fi stuff if they weren't too big.

Greeting folks. I played a game yesterday using my new Space Pulp league: Dirk Quasar and the Astro Girls and pitted them a league of evil Space Nazis called G.A.S.P. lead by LAF'er Benny.(Unfortunately, I can't remember what the acronym means but it's German something, something Platoon - Something to do with gasmasks). Anyway, it was a fun game.

A couple of pics here but a full AAR with lots of pics over at my blog: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com.au/

That is really cool.  I love that female spacer.  She looks like she has to pee.  Your ant farm ship is inspired though.   :-*

I'm thinking the reason Trixie ran to the ship so fast is because she was looking for a restroom?

Got to love that pose! Well done, Ian.  :-*
