Well, not quite but since I've been roped into the Slient Invader madness and the fact that he very kindly posted some freebies I've painted some Spaniards.
Certainly no where near the quality of Richards (and I still don't know how he did it o_o ) and I don't have any flock yet for the bases but I think they will do considering the stupid size of them lol
Based on British pennies, flag pinched from the net and shrunk down to a resonable size. Very probably not the right uniforms but as long as they look ok I don't care, they're just to damn small lol

Did them in one go but my wrists and elbows are hurting somewhat now so I won't tackle anymore for a few weeks.
I'll be doing most of the terrain and I'll post it here as and when :)

Nice work!
I'm just waiting for one of you to decide that 10mm is perhaps still a bit large so we can see Captain Blood painting stripes trousers on 6mils.
Or 2s.
:D

Excellent James. They look rather good in white.
Fiddly little swine, aren't they? And some of the figures are better than others... But some of them are really astonishingly good considering the tiny scale...
Anyway, I've ordered a few bags of them from the 'new' League of Augsburg range, which I reckon will be:
1. the best figures, being the latest sculpts
2. about the right period for the heyday of piracy, costume-wise.
Given that I shall have far more figures than I'll ever need (30 figures to a bag / 5 or 6 different poses!) I'll send you some of my duplicates :)
Take it easy.

Cheers for the offer Richard. I'll only wake WSS figs if that's what you have spare of and any suitable ship crew but don't worry about it if not, I'll probably be sorting myself out :)

First bit of terrain started :)
The tube was in one of my bits boxes and was just the right size.
I had to get my wife to basic cut the doors and windows out as I still don't have full strength in my wrists but I finished them and added the other bits such as lintels and a floor/roof.
I'm going to gently texture it and I'm hoping the paint job will help give a sense of the scale as doing brick/block work this small can prove tricky.
Will be putting it on a small scenic base wit the possibility of a small hut where the operators live.

And one of my 28mm naval crew for scale.

Keeping it simple terrain wise for now until I'm back properly :)

Cute!

Very cool!
They look like 28's until you see them next to an actual 28.
Superb painting!

Well done James. And Mrs Bibbly :)
I'd better start painting some more figures...
And decide on a ship... ::)

Thanks chaps :)
Should've mentioned that it's going to be a semaphore station ::) It was late and the drugs were kicking in...

Oooh, you lucky bastard!
:D
-
Well done team bibbly.... The bibblyites....the bibbly massive and the bibbly missus.....
I have based my first figures and mostly assembled my first ship .... And it is looking forward to blasting your semaphore tower!
-
Damnation! It seems I am yet again flagging behind with bugger all progress to compare against. Not even a single mini purchased or threatened with paint. :(
I shall have to source some brits of approximately the right period and a ship.

:o lol
Very nice work.
You're all quite mad y'know.
-
NO, you won't convince me to downscale once more! lol lol lol
(your armada is growing splendidly!)
-
Thanks chaps :)
I hope to get more done this week but we'll see.
I think The Bibblites is fitting :D
By the by, what are the letters in front of Spanish ship names? English ships are HMS obviousy.
cheers
