Title: New Of Gods and Mortals pantheon lists
Post by: Smith on 14 November 2013, 12:59:09 PM
Hi all,

There are two new pantheon lists for Of Gods and Mortals available on the OWG Resources page (link in signature) – Japanese and Pre-Islamic Arab.

Also uploaded is the Quick Reference Sheet from the rulebook.

All are free to download.

Thanks for these!  I've a potential opponent who has plenty of 15mm Arabs, and we were wondering about this.  The various Djinns work well as Legends!

Yeah, my colleague and I are building some 15mm OGAM armies for quick lunchtime games, and I was tempted by the Arabian stuff myself – mainly because I had a great Roc figure in mind...

Actually, now I think about it, D&D prepaints offer a fantastic set of cheap(ish) options for 15mm OGAM – the Efreeti, Sand Giant, Djinni and Marid models are suitably 'Huge', and the more human-sized Genasi and Mephit models are great for 'Big' Jann.

Nice!  What models do you plan to use for your Mortals?  Any particular manufacturer in mind? or mix and match?

It's still up in the air if I go with Arabian or Egyptian (or with the Inca list I'm writing – though I might save that for 28mm), but in either case, I think it'd have to be Peter Pig. They've got a nice range of New Kingdom Egyptians, and a cool fantasy Arabian line (http://www.peterpig.co.uk/range19.htm – half-way down the page). I know they're a little slight compared to some 15s, but they do paint up easily!

I know a few people used archangels for the god slot with Arthurian and similar setups.

Oddly enough, there seemed to have been an Arthurian list for OGAM at some point in development since there are several images inside the book that reference the knights of the round table battling other lists.

If I was doing it, I think I'd read Bernard Cornwell's 'Winter King' trilogy - I rather like the way he handles the mythical and religious elements - a mixture of Christianity, Roman Gods and Celtic religion with druids, etc. It works quite well I think.
