I would like a hard copy, but also a PDF backup (sometimes searching is better)
I would also like to make sure I'm supporting the creator.
Any advice from longtime gamers (or even the creator himself as I know some game makers haunt this site)

There aren't hard copies that I'm aware of. I hunted high and low for one, and couldn't find it. Kinda sucked, that.
The pdf is ok!

Take the PDF to a printer like Kinkos or Office Max/Depot, whatever....they can print and bind it for you. If I recall they should be able to do a hard cover for you as well.

I looked around in Canada here, and unless someone knows better, the price was INSANE. Like Games Workshop insane!!! I am envious of your "Kinko's". lol

My plan for 2014 is to get SS3 onto Lulu so folks have a POD option. Maybe even RPGNow/Drivethru RPG for their POD options.
This may necessitate new layout. Not sure. Anyway, I am aware of the situation and mulling my options.
Thanks for your patronage, nonetheless!

I bought the PDF at http://www.wargamedownloads.com/item.php?item=822. After this a print at my local copyshop and they bind it. Easy way.

I'm also in Canada here (Edmonton, Alberta) and will probably find the same. I wonder if I can sneak it in at work with a coil binding and a laminated cover...

copy store here in France made me the print (with external covers in color, inside in black and white, transparent plastic sheets on both covers, binding combs) for around 20USD. Is there no students in Canada ? lol
We're not speaking about printing stores, where they make books or whatever, but simply student oriented copy stores.
You can also invest in a comb binding machine, if you're interested in indie games. I bought one for around 30USD in a local super market, with 20 transparent sheets. I bought the other supplies in a business/office oriented store.
For example, 20 comb bindings pack cost around 3 or 5 USD. Paper around 5USD for 500 sheets (80grs extra white quality).
Compatible inkjet cartdriges (high capacity), around 5USD on amazon or ebay. Enough to print 2 or 3 games in professionnal quality, more in draft quality, if your personal printer is good enough.
And believe me, these days, prices are high here in France :?
Then, take one afternoon, and make your own rulebook. ;)
A lot of Indie games worth the investment !

How many pages is it?

Just wanted to update folks that I have started working in earnest on SuperSystem 3rd ed, revised for a POD/PDF release in early 2014.
The rules will remain largely the same, but I have incorporated all known errata, and added a few extra bits here and there. We'll do a new layout, and I am commissioning a new cover. Do folks have a preference on size/binding? I have not looked into all of the Lulu/Drivethru RPG options, but I think digest-sized and standard, 8.5" x 11" sizes are both options. If we do a smaller size, we could also offer hardcovers, I am guessing.
What do folks find has the most utility around the table?
Thanks for any feedback!

I got the Strange Aeons with a coil bound that is nice in that I can fold the pages back and not wreck a spine. Not as nice on a bookshelf, but it's probably a cheap option. Otherwise, a nice shelf ready with card stock cover and such like most RPG and game books might have an appeal to a retail store.

Will this new version come with solo rules ?
I already bought SS3 (PDF version), and I would upgrade only for this.
Concerning book itself, I could pay for an hardback full color book. If we can see price in the book quality, why not.
Otherwise, I'll probably buy a PDF version (to save shipping costs) since I've got a personal comb binding machine.

Nope, no solo rules. Sorry. Yeah, this is mainly to get a print option into people's hands. No major changes at this point. Errata fixes and some minor tweaks.

Too bad :(
I like your games system, but I almost never play it, because of lack of interest in my aera. So I focus on solo gaming almost exclusively.
By the way, I don't know how is evolving gamign community, but if people is getting older and older, solo gaming will become more popular I bet. Getting older make finding players more difficult (no one in my friends or relative plays minis anymore).

While I understand your dilemma, solo rules are something I have experimented with writing, and not found ay real success or satisfaction with. I may take a stab again at some point, but not right now.

Almost need to come up with an "Enemy action deck". A series of random actions the enemies can do (Attack, Run, Special Action like take hostage, set off bomb, surrender...)

I have the PDF.
I might buy the rules just to sweeten the pot when I sell my 25+ mm supers (or to justify buying 15 mm Supers) so I will be looking for the announcement this is a "go."
Gracias,
Glenn

The PDF is pretty good, not sure where you are but I really like how Uncle Mike spiral bound his Strange Aeons book and the paper quality was nice.....it may be pretty cool to get it designed like a comic book or graphic novel....a hardcopy would be nice.

I like hardcovers myself. Small digest ones are also handy.

Sundayhero, I am not promising anything definite, but this morning I have dusted off some of my previous failed attempts at Solo rules, and I am gaining some traction on them. So this could happen for SuperSystem 3rd ed., Revised.
I will need a play-tester, and I am conscripting you if these rules get to a point where they will need testing--hope you don't mind! ;)
Anyway, I will tinker with them some more on and off today and try to keep you updated. Significant hurdles remain, but we shall see. And at this point, they will just be for SuperSystem. I cannot write a set that unifies all of the disparate Goalsystem mechanics. But they should be adaptable, I think.
More as I write it!
