Well, I think those will be very useful for all sorts of things! I foresee lots of Dothraki on the horizon. And the weapons look to be in a more realistic scale than some of your earlier sets, which is an improvement as far as I'm concerned. Also love the spilt bodies - offering so much more possibility for creating unique poses. All in all, it looks like a great set. Congratulations :)
-
Some possibilities for 7th voyage and conan type games!!

uhm...uhm...muhehe..muhahha..i love you, you give me a great idea! :D

we was listening the opening theme of conan during the assembling :P

I like the look of these 8)
I'm currently reading Conn Igguldens Khan series and trying not to get inspired to do some gaming ::)
Will you be doing all the Khanate enemies?
Well spotted Richard :)
cheers
James
-
Lovely looking set. Love the variety of shields.
-
They look superb and can think of a lot of uses for them :)
-
David Gemmell's Nadir will be well represented by these I think. They look great!
-
Conans Turans and yes there brilliant
-
These could be good for a Mongol invasion of Japan game. Need some kind of rule for the Samurai calling out someone for single combat then being ignored and charged.
-
Being blissfully ignorant of "Dothraki" I just see them as plastic historicals but very welcome ones. Having seen the cavalry and declaring they would probably break my box of plastics virginity it now looks like it will be these instead.
-
These look great BUT when are you going to do the Saracens !
Your Crusaders are fab but they need opponents
cheers
Eric
-
Smashing! I really like the look of these :-*
“Nadir we, youth born, axe wielders, blood letters, victors still.”
Dros Delnoch as a terrain project, anyone?
-

Dothraki are the steppe nomads in the Game of Thrones books - kind of pseudo-Huns-cum-Mongols, only a bit more glamorous and scantily-clad ;)
-
I hope the bows in the quivers are sturdy....Nice looking set though!
-
They look very promising.
Great work on those.

What he said! But these do look very lovely!

Now that would be something. Didn't it have something like 5 walls? Or was it 8?
-
wow these are fabulous! the shields are amazing

Ten.
And a keep.
I like building wargame terrain as much as the next man (more even, maybe) but the Dros, in 28mm? Wow o_o.
Funnily enough, I guess the Fireforge foot knights/sergeants would do good service as The Thirty as well!
-
Love these! You certainly get plenty of options. :-*
-
I suspect this set will be pretty popular, quite a few uses for these fellows. They look great!

Stop it!

They would! I am still trying to decide on what kind of figures would suit the general Drenai. Their culture-base is fairly vague compared to the Nadir and the desert chaps whose name escapes me right now.
-
I'll be using these guys for northern barbarians in my upcoming Arabian games. Looking forward to them.

Kiatze, possibly, who were the progenitors to the Nadir? If so, they seemed like straight up medieval Chinese (but I'm no expert). Or more likely, the Sathuli - flowing white robes, big beards, curved swords...
Regnac: "What is your life worth?"
Joachim: "A broken sword..."
I wonder how easily I could put together SAGA battleboards for Nadir, Drenai (Legion, anyone?), Vagrian, Ventrian, Gothir...
-
Sathuli are the ones I was thinking of. They would be easy to find in miniature. The Drenai are probably high medieval types, given some of the equipment descriptions.

The Vagrians seemed to have a sort of Kievan Rus feel about them to me, from what I picked up reading about Serbitar of the Thirty and his family/personal warband. The Gothir seemed general north European and the Ventrians sort of Italian city state/Venetian. I feel I have just awoken a monster lol
-
Yeah... I think you have as it happens. lol
-
Does FireForge have a US distributor?
-
Druss the Legend - that would make for an exciting project...
-

And frivolous.
They would work as LotR Easterlings or Variags to.
-
That's why I like them :)
Huns and Mongols were so serious...
;)
-
LotR Easterlings is a good idea 8)
cheers

These look like some useful figures and I will get some, but really looking forward to hearing about the Saracens to do a The Siege if Jerusalem.
-

It does, indeed!
I am running out of excuses for not buying any of these fellas..... ::)
-
I'm even thinking of using them for historical purposes lol
cheers

I say, steady now! ;)
Still, talk about 101 uses for one set of miniatures - I think it's great!
-
Dothraki at last !!!!!!!! ;D ;D

Thank you. Looks like I'll be getting some boxes as a Christmas present to myself. :D
-
I wonder how they will scale besides the old Grenadier Horse Tribes (by Copplestone IIRC.)
-
Druss the Legend - that would make for an exciting project...
You make it and I'll play that :D
-

Working on it. Just not very quickly lol

James
Can you do that?

Needs must and all that ;)

History is quite a big area, how about using them for something really exotic, Napoleonic Tartars perhaps?

Does anyone know what they are based on? They look like Mongols who have dismounted to me, but did they ever do that? I thought Mongol foot were Chines or other allies/subjects?
-

Apparently they were sculpted by Mark Copplestone as well as Bob Naismith although I'm not sure which ones Mark sculpted? Most are picturesdhere; Lost Minis (http://miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Horse_Raiders_%28Fantasy_Warriors%29)
If these plastics and the cavalry get released it will be one happy day!
-
They do look like Mongols on foot. Are there any pictures of assembled ones online?
I am interested in the excellent looking gear for conversions purposes. I wish I could purchase them separately but not with this sprue layout.
-
There are good pictures somewhere...on the Fireforge site? (Can't recall...but I've seen them.)
