Ever notice goblins always get the short end of the stick? Such bigotry will not be tolerated anymore...
"Goblins aren't as good as Orcs"
"Goblins can ride a wolf, maybe a spider, but a boar is too much animal for them to handle, let alone something as dangerous as a wyvern"
"Goblins are cute, but they should know their place"
well no longer! It's high time Goblins took to the sky!
I've been ...slowly... assembling a Goblin army for Kings of War (I like the element bases that are possible and the flexible ally/counts as possibilities)
I thought my Goblin king deserved a mighty beast, so he's going to ride a Wyvern and doesn't care how much it offends Orc sensibilities.
Put a little paint to the conversion this week:

Beautiful tones on that beastie! Looking forward to the finished piece.
-
Beautiful work on the Wyvern (also one of my favourite quasi-dragon creatures).
-
Very nice work, awesome colours
-
That's some lovely green. Love to see it completed.
-
Awesome wyvern!
-
The new Goblin on the Old Wyvern looks FANTASTIC...I love the colors you've chosen for the Beasty & the base is OUTSTANDING. Have FUN finishing it off!
-
I'm a goblin fan myself. Good to see the little bastards get the love they deserve! Great variety to choose from too.
-
Them's some purdy daubs. :-*
Great model too! I recognise it but can't quite place it. Old Citadel? The wings look similar to the dragonmaster mini.
-
Thanks for the feedback everyone :D
I'll have him finished by the end of the month, that's the goal I set for it.
Vermis: yep, it's a very old Citadel Miniature, released August 1987

DeafNala: Thanks, I was a bit hesitant about adding a new goblin, some nagging notion about 'keep it all 80's Kev Adams era' but in the end, I really liked how this goblin looked on him, raising his shield and yelling, he just looked like he was feeling triumphant and wanted on that wyvern, so I let him ;)

That is some beautiful green! I can't wait to see this completed.
-
Those greens are outstanding - one of my favourite goblin sculpts too!
-
Great work - looking forward to seeing it finished.
I've been following your goblin progress on your blog eagerly - its great to see some paint!
-
Echoing what everyone else has said above - fantastic green shades on that wyvern :o
-
Thanks all, I noticed the last picture repeated, not sure why, so fixed that. I'll have more progress pictures early next week :D
-
I can't wait to see more!
Lovely work!

The Goblin King, Brokentooth, on his Wyvern, Spitter, is now complete.
There are a whole lot of different angle pictures, so for the complete set, you'll find them (and more wisdom from Brokentooth himself) here:

But here are some give the idea:

Amazing job. well done
-
Cor. :-*
(Blog link doesn't seem to be doing much, tho)
-
Thanks voivod & vermis :)
link fixed now
-
That looks WONDERFUL! The Beast, base, banner, & Goblin King are all BEAUTIFULLY modeled & painted...that turned out even better than I anticipated. VERY WELL DONE!
It's good to see Brokentooth has his priorities straight. War for its own sake is for those moronic Orcs....Drugs, & Sex, & Rock & Roll is the Goblin way.
-
just one word : WOW !!!!!!
-
:o absolutely stunning! What a centre piece for an army to have.
-
Amazing :-* :-*
Hope you don't mind, but I've posted this and a link to your blog on the Oldhammer face book page
cheers
George

Whoof, quite a job!
-
A magnificent centrepiece for any greenskin army. Congratulations.
-
Loving it. A great all round mini. That banner is absolutely amazing!
-
Absolutely amazing.I' ll have to watch for flying goblins, now! :o
-
Very cool!
Like the colours on the wyvern.
Great painting and conversion job.
-
Thanks everyone :D
DeafNala: Brokentooth has his priorities straight ;)
Thanks Gutbukkit.. now I just need to get at the army for him to lead
Redshadows: Nice, thanks :) I don't do Facebook, so nice to have some sharing on that. I started with Warhammer 3rd ed, so Oldhammer speaks to me, hopefully this much more modern goblin riding this ancient wyvern will not disappoint the purists ;) He seemed a good thematic fit to my eye so I went with it
Beefcake: thanks, the banner was a lot of fun to paint.
