Hello LAFers!
I was wondering if anyone has put the Brigade Games Storm in the East RCW/BoB minis next to Copplestone to see how they size up?
Thanks in advance!
Alex

They're fine together. Storm in the East are a tad chunkier, but not that you would notice.

Not the best of photos, but the maroon figures in the foreground are Copplestone, the gray ones in the back left are Brigade. To my eye, the Copplestone are bigger. It may be that Paul Hicks sculpted the Brigade, but if he did, he did a very convincing Mike Owen impression as they faces are very much in the Artisan style.
Regardless, the difference is not that great. I just wouldn't put these particular figures in the same unit.

Again, not quite the comparison you are looking for, but this picture shows Brigade cavalry (from the East Africa Range, again pretty sure they are Mike Owen sculpts alongside Copplestone Mongols. Not much of a difference.

Thanks guys, this is helpful! I suppose it's just a this guy is beefier than that guy, type comparison? I'm fine with that..as both are quite fine figure ranges....

That pretty much sums it up, also keep in mind that the Copplestone figures vary-For example the BOB Brits are bigger that some of the other sculpts in the line.

This is a mix of Copplestone BoB and BG Storm in the East figures by Mike Owen - pretty much the same size :)

The style is pretty similar too. I think Messrs Copplestone and Owen go back a long way, and have a similar (although each is distinct) style.
Remember they did a joint range with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and the figures were interchangeable between the two halves of the range.

Captain Blood,
Long been a fan of your distinctive style. Didn't realize you painted stuff from this era. Those are gorgeous.
I will now be throwing all of mine away lol

My RCW forces are a pretty even mix of Brigade & Copplestone, and they mix just fine.
As it happens (mostly due to a random decision when doing small test orders of stuff right at the beginning of my RCW project) the bulk of my Reds are Copplestone and the bulk of my Whites Brigade, but even in the same unit they're OK.
I've actually got a long blog post half-written on the Brigade Storm in the East range that I really should finish and publish. Need to get some decent closeup pics of some of my Brigade Whites to illustrate the article first, though... which is why it's sat in the Drafts folder of the blog for over a year now...

Oh they're pretty!! The figure on the left made it into my Chinese Warlord Dare to Die unit.
I have been saving the Russian Orthodox Priest wondering what to do with him. Now that my Chinese have White allies, now i know .. :D
As others have said, they all mix well together. I also have some Old Glory RCW Bolos that i use with Brigade Games figures

I'm just going to pop in here and ask a quick Russian uniforms question: How usable are WWI Russians for the interwar period?
WWII-era uniforms are clearly different in cut and shape, but I'm not actually sure when that change took place? Was that a result of the Winter War?
Am I fine to use the Copplestone/Storm of the East/Artizan WWI/BoB figures for the 1934-1939 period? Officers only? Infantry too? What's going to be the most universal colour scheme for me to use? I presume heavier khaki elements will be closer to WWII, whereas the interwar period the black/dark trousers will be more common/correct? But darker trousers persisted for officers into WWII, I think?
