I am with you on that one even though I have never met a Brazilian that hasn't tried to choke me unconscious. Thats because I met them all via Brazilian Jiu Jitsu not because Brazilians have a vendetta against me.

In Portugal we thank God for Brazil, most are of Portuguese descent, they are warm, friendly etc.now that almost all our youth is bailing out of the country to escape deep poverty (300 Portuguese emigrate per day) because of the long term economical siege, thank God they are here and there are plenty more to come!
Today I went to have lunch in a restaurant and honestly it looked like I was in an elderly day care center...

They do exist, albeit as a tiny minority. Locally they are called vascainos. ;)

True, you come across more portugueses here now than ever before. Last I heard there's a waiting list of 30 or 40.000 wanting to obtain a visa here. It's the impenetrable accent that marks them out. Another example of the two countries divided by a common language thing. I often wonder how long it takes for them to learn that 'posso de entrar a bicha?' means something quite different here. :)
Actually, it was funny, I was in Colombia last month and I was sitting at breakfast in my hotel reading the paper on the Ipad when I noticed a couple on the next table. It took me about a minute to realise they were speaking portuguese.
Thanks for the link Gui, that's a handy site.

And by way of partial explanation of earlier remarks about vascainos...
Rebaixado de novo com Flu. Bem feito idiotas! lol :D lol

A full explanation would take up too much space. Suffice it to say their supporters are animals, as demonstrated just last week in the last game of the year. Well they are paying for that too.

Alas through the trickery and chicanery of their lawyers at the sports tribunal Flu have avoided relegation. >:( the doorman at our building is ecstatic.
Still, Vasco have been relegated and we are three times winners of the Copa do Brasil, so all in all a good year. Libertadores to come next year. Can't have everything I suppose.
